About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

It's good. People complain about bugs but the hotfixes must have fixed most of them, because while there is some jank, I never had a game or quest breaking bug. My principle complaint: I like that the game doesn't hold your hand with quest markers, but one criticism I have is that if you aren't going to hold the player's hand in this way, you at least need to give better directions. While most quests reward you for following directions and using your intuition, there are a few quests like "find the book I'm looking for somewhere in the world" or "go to my favorite spot somewhere in the world and have fun" with no possibility for elaboration are just frustrating, especially when it can take a while to navigate the world and every dead end feels like a massive waste of time if you have already cleared said dead end. It's quite easy to become very OP, which is both good and bad. Feels great when you one-shot the old mobs that used to give you trouble, feels bad when you kill the final boss in 20 seconds without taking damage on your first playthrough. Also I was expecting a weird ending, but this one was kind of disappointing... The game is fun, nostalgic and has a good amount of content though, I strongly recommend it in spite of these gripes.

The initial advertisement hooked me, the first few quests reeled me in, and the continued and constant support and communication from the development team bagged me and fried me. The game was already clearly on a good foundation when it first entered early access (although pretty buggy, I had to reset one of my saves early on because I kept loading in under the map---that hasn't happened since), but the regular updates and consistent improvement work from the dev team shows that they clearly love the game and are building it for the love of the game. For people looking for a game that has clearly been inspired by the elder scrolls while still being wacky and unique in its own right, this game fits the bill and the dev team indicates that this'll be a game worth loving. Highly recommend
Game is awesome and it's only in early access. I would definitely suggest purchasing this game closer to the actual release date tho, only because it still needs a lot of love from the dev, but since i bought the game a couple days ago, there's already been 2 updates fixing and adding more stuff. personally I'm mad excited for the full release, and they've done a really good job at scratching that elder scrolls itch. my biggest annoyance is that my custom character looks inbred af, BUT I ASSUME THE CHARACTER CREATION IS SOMETHING THE DEVS ALREADY HAVE ON THEIR TO DO LIST *COUGH COUGH* also, it's CRAZY to me that there are literally only about 3 or 4 (good) games, including this one, that have done the bethesda style, "scrolls-like" rpg......... anyway... my backspace is broken and i'm waffling now, so........... end of review

This game is goated and has a bunch of stuff to see and more to come as of now. Can't wait for the full release. Take that Bethesda!
this game rocks
While glitchy, this game is fun af to play with a friend. It does take me back to Morrowind and I love that you can find strong items in random places. It's much more fun than leveled loot. Same with enemies. My friend and I have wandered into areas that had much tougher enemies than we were used to and they took our ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lunch money. Overall very fun and it made my pee pee hard.
