About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

I really want to like this game.. But I can't. The dev has been hard at work pushing updates, which is great. But the game itself is in what feels like an alpha state. It stutters, glitches, bugs constantly, and the entire game design feels like it's fighting against the player. Everything is vague, unexplained, obscure. You have to constantly battle a horrible UI in order to figure out what is what and you won't make any significant progress in the game without meta knowledge or a SIGNIFICANT amount of note-taking or hours spent. Maybe once the UI is improved and the quests are made clearer it'll be better, but for now, it's just painful to play. The game is also horribly optimized because the whole world is rendered constantly.
Very impressive so far! Morrowind influences are definitely there, but Risen and Gothic comparisons came to mind more in the first 4 hours. No major bugs, a fair amount of minor ones but mostly related to character models. Only found a few beds I could actually sleep in, most of the time my character made a half-hearted attempt to lie down before giving up. The shopkeeper got stuck in his house, I've been cursed by a well, I know it gives me -20 something, but not sure exactly what, that sort of thing. Considering it's early access and that there's been hotfixes already, it's more than understandable. Plus, wouldn't be a game in this genre if there weren't at least a few bugs! Night-eye effect is great, levitation is going to be fun, The Moon is cool.

this game is actually incredible with an extremely active community, with vocal, transparent, and hardworking devs constantly pushing out updates n such. cant wait to see the future of this game!
If you like Morrowind or Oblivion, and you're sick of Bethesda's "it just works" philosophy or just need something new in the same genre, this is a must get.
I just finished my first playthrough. The game is in a -very- early stage, however the entire main story is playable. It is buggy as all get-out, and there are even subtitle spelling mistakes in the ending few minutes of dialogue. HOWEVER. it's one of the best early access games I've ever played. If you are on the fence, you should get it. It's extremely creative, has fun questing, and the story is intriguing. The characters are very memorable and unique. If you can accept weapons unequipping randomly, having to use the console to spawn in things occasionally, and overall jank, there is genuinely a gem here. I hope the dev continues working on this, and I will be tuned into future updates, as well as future games. Phenomenal product for the price.
sick elder scrolls type game just buy the freaking game it's cool as ♥♥♥♥ also runs well on deck
100% Morrowind Inspired RPG. I love it, so much freedom to do what you want and go where you want. Recommeded
this game is really fun! Very buggy but very fun! P.S. I asked for Maces and they added them. yay.
unoptimized slop.
Looks like the devs were tired of waiting for a proper spiritual successor to Morrowind and took up the challenge themselves. And so far I'd say they've nailed it, with their own unique vision in mind. Lage handcrafted world with attention to detail, there are voiced characters and communities scattered, I love the alien and strange quirks it has throughout, and the combat is typical. I'm pretty invested, cant wait to see more. May be too early to tell, but I'm putting this one in my favorites for those reasons (Morrowind!). Side Note: the Calyx race has digitigrade hindlimbs, just like the khajiit in Morrowind, a feature that Bethesda should've kept in later titles! Very cool to see.
