About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

Pros: -Everything you enjoyed about Elder Scrolls III Morrowind -Lots of content: at 20+ hours I still haven't even started the main quest -Coop -Devs are responsive to feedback and quick with bugfixes -Combat is much better than in Morrowind Cons: -Still pretty buggy (but has already had 10 hotfixes in this first week)

Game is bussin. if you liked morrowind and Dread Delusion, this one is for you. surprisingly few bugs for a day 1 EA release, but there are some- however much less than a "finished" bethesda product. It definitely needs some TLC, theres a flaming sword that blocks your vision because of the effects on it, enemies get stuck/spawn inside walls, and the quests are horrendously broken if you dont do the exact steps you need. crime is a mess, i got multiple bounties without even knowing why and i ended up having to murder the entire starting town. Its got a lot of charm and many cool things to see even now. combat is pretty damn good for what it is and the gear progression feels great.
i like it, but uh... I can't use weapons... :c they equip but then i'm just still unarmed... so I'm gonna hope they fix it soon.. </3
I went into this game without expecting too much, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. It really feels like a love letter to classic Bethesda-style RPGs, with exploration, interesting NPCs, side quests, lore, and that familiar open-world feeling that has been missing for a while. The art style has a bit of a rough indie charm to it, but the overall atmosphere works really well. The soundtrack is great, the voice acting is solid, and the combat is actually quite fun. There are definitely some rough edges and the occasional bit of jank, but honestly, it adds to the old-school RPG feeling rather than ruining the experience. I especially like that the game encourages you to explore and figure things out instead of constantly following quest markers. It makes the world feel more immersive and rewarding to explore. For an Early Access game, this is seriously impressive. If you enjoy Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind, or just miss this kind of RPG, I highly recommend giving it a try. Really looking forward to seeing how the game develops!
If you like Morrowind or Oblivion, and you're sick of Bethesda's "it just works" philosophy or just need something new in the same genre, this is a must get.
I hope scrollslike becomes a real genre. overall game feels a little jank but it's got the bethesda charm that bethesda themselves seems to have lost.
unoptimized slop.
A really solid homage to one of the OG ESO's, definitely has it's bugs but it looks like the dev is on a hot streak with the hotfixes. Still a blast to play. I would like to see smarter enemy AI. They get stuck in really silly places (like small steps) or just stand in place and stare at you... Overall it's pretty fleshed out but still needs some work. Big recommend though!
