its a trashy mobile game not for steam
Disclaimer: As of a few years ago, 'The Killbox: Arena Combat' is no longer playable on Steam. The servers have been shut down for a while now yet the game remains on the platform. The game can still be played however on mobile. It is still up and running just not on Steam so if you wish to play this, you'll have to suck it up and go mobile. Otherwise this one is not on the table I'm afraid.

Overview:
'The Killbox: Arena Combat' is a first person shooter initially released on mobile with multiple game modes meant to provide a vast spectrum of entertainment for players but unfortunately cannot be played as the people behind the game have shut down the servers on the computer port (for quite a while now). With a multitude of game modes and updates, supposedly no pay to win aspects, many different guns and other eye catching features, why did 'The Killbox: Arena Combat' not stand the test of time on Steam? My theory is that like most shooters (and frankly games) on phones where many are a pay to win micro-transaction nightmare, 'The Killbox: Arena Combat' is most likely also part of it in one way or another. There are just more polished and generally better games of the same type on PC than on mobile. It's up against some of the best free first person shooters out there; there's just no contest which most likely lead to it's PC servers closing down. Although I wasn't able to play it on computer (making this review rather redundant), I thought it'd be fun to look into what the game was like. On top of that, I believe it's important to address the fact that the game actually can't be played anymore (on Steam at least) and to hopefully to save someones time downloading the game trying to play it just to find out that it's no longer possible. It's baffling seeing a game that no longer works stay on the Steam store and is a unique breed in itself. There are bad games, games that are barely games and these rare specimens where the game can't be played at all. These are the worst of them all. Here is a game that resembles many other free to play first person shooters such as 'Modern Combat', 'Crossfire', 'Soldier Front' and 'Combat Arms' just to name a few. The difference being the game is only playable on mobile devices now rather than on a computer. The game isn't dead per se, it still holds a player base although I'm not sure how big, but the fact remains that whatever playerbase it had on PC is gone.
Gameplay:
I haven't played it at all on PC but gave it a shot on mobile. Needless to say, it's essentially like any typical free to play first person shooter. All modes appear to at least have enough people playing it that you'll find a game almost every time and 'The Killbox: Arena Combat' does seem to have a lot to offer. You have the quintessential team versus where you fight along side 5 players in a 6v6 battle. Other more interesting modes feel more like playing a game than actual combat and there are enough of them to supposedly keep the player entertained. The other thing that comes to mind with these types of games is how the developer makes money. The game is free, so what's the catch? 'The Killbox: Arena Combat' takes into consideration fair play and claims that there are no upgrades for guns to ensure a balanced match. However, there are in fact upgrades and micro-transactions plastered all over the game and many of them do in fact have an impact on weapon performance. There are perk slots, character stats and other sockets that players whom have played longer will have more of than new players. The claim that the game is balanced is untrue and 'The Killbox: Arena Combat' does unfortunately fall into the dastard pit of Pay2Win. With all that said, the game can still be fun all things considered, but keep in mind I'm talking about the mobile version, not the PC version since it doesn't work. In addition to that, a pay to win structure is enough of a red flag but that also means most content will be locked behind micro transactions. What a treat.
Controls:
I'm not a phone game nor will I ever be. I dislike gaming on the phone and wouldn't even think to play a first person shooter on it. That being said, 'The Killbox: Arena Combat' was made primarily for phone gaming so the UI works. The controls for the game itself I assume plays fine but I had lots of trouble trying to play it. This is just me not being a phone gamer, I despise the control scheme not just for 'The Killbox: Arena Combat' but for shooting games on phones in general and can't get the handle of it for the life of me. It's probably fine. For the Steam version however, what controls?
Graphics:
Looks like again, every other free to play first person shooter. It really isn't anything special. Although not the worst graphics, it really feels like a free game. This could also have a lot to do with the limitations phones have when it comes to graphical output for games. But phones have since advanced to the point where graphics in mobile games can be improved drastically. This game released in 2017 but adopt graphics from early 2010. Furthermore, this is a PC port, were they really so lazy that they just directly ported the game over instead of polishing it up and optimizing it properly for PC play? Most likely.
Audio:
Also nothing special. For a free game it's whatever. Combined with the graphics, it still just feels like you're playing a cheap, free game no matter what you do. It's like mum giving you a toy car from Adventure Wheels to play with because she couldn't snag the brand name toys. Sure it does the job and you can pretend that it's the best toy car out there, but it just boils down to the fact that no matter how hard you try, it ain't no Hotwheels.
Conclusion/TL;DR:
'The Killbox: Arena Combat' is a first person PVP shooter ported from mobile onto PC that can no longer be played (on PC). The servers on the Steam port are no longer online but the game can still be played on mobile (if you're into that). It has mediocre gameplay despite all the modes with graphics that scream "free". That along with micro-transactions and pay to win aspects that the developers claim the game doesn't have littered everywhere, 'The Killbox: Arena Combat' doesn't seem to be a game you'd want to play anyway even if you had the chance to. Perhaps it's PC demise was for the best.

o jogo parece muito interessante e eu gostaria de experimentar e quem sabe me dedicar ao game. Entretanto parece que o game foi abandonado... não passa da tela do launcher, infelizmente mais um game bom e com futuro abandonado
Knock off of csgo but still good if you can't afford csgo
