The Invisible Hours

Wow, I'm late to the game here, but just played through Chapter 1 last night in VR and was completely and totally hooked. The vibe of the game feels very much like a "Knives Out" story but plays similarly in a way to "Return of the Obra Dinn", though I should note both were released after "The Invisible Hours". The mechanics of pausing, rewinding, and fast forwarding make for a super intriguing "whodunit" unraveling of mysteries as you replay scenes from different persons' perspectives, and follow them as they splinter away and rejoin one another, uncovering hidden motives and connections between characters. The planning and care that must have gone into all these interwoven subplots while maintaining a super compelling overarching narrative track is just incredible. The conceit of the theatre as hub for this story is perfect and the user interface and tools presented at the chapter summary are so ingenious and perfect as well. The inclusion of Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison as major players in the story adds another layer of intrigue and allure, considering the historical context of their real-life relationship which was adversarial to say the least. These historical figures add some wonderful grounding and weight to the scenes and situations. Can't wait to go back!

[h1]En pocas palabras un muy buen juego e innovador. Es único[/h1] Esto es un juego muy bueno y también MUY particular. A tal punto que no hacemos nada en el, solo observamos lo que sucede como si estuviésemos viendo una película con la particularidad de que podemos retrocederla, pausarla o avanzarla tantas veces queramos y mover la cámara con total libertad, con la intensión de descubrir que fue lo que pasó. Por ejemplo si queremos podemos ir a la cocina desde el inicio y pasarlo al 100% ahí. O podemos estar en una habitación y a una hora determinada ir a otro lugar, podremos recorrer el mapeado a nuestro antojo. Todo para poder dar con alguna pista que nos diga que sucedió. Somos como un Sherlock Holmes fantasma y no tenemos ningún tipo de interacción con nadie ni con nada. La trama ya está establecida por lo que solo podremos observar. En fin, si te gustan las intrigas y los juegos de investigación, no te puede faltar este. Porque realmente lo vale. Este juego es único. El Argumento nos presenta un asesinato y nuestro objetivo es deducir lo ocurrido. El juego comienza justo después del hecho y debemos observar el comportamiento, las acciones y escuchar las conversaciones de cada uno dentro de la mansión. De ahí tomar nota e ir descubriendo la realidad. La verdad creí que iba a ser aburrido y corto pero resultó ser todo lo contrario. El juego me duró un poco mas de 6 horas pero esto depende de cada uno. Yo lo jugué con tranquilidad analizando y disfrutando del juego en cada movimiento ya que lo amerita desde mi punto de vista. Si calificas en alguno de estos puntos entonces no te lo recomiendo[/h1] -Si sos un rushero precoz inmaduro y/o infantil... -Que se apura y hace todo rápido sin ninguna explicacíón por mera competencia o para descubrirlo todo antes que otros y después ir con el chisme. -Que anda presumiendo sus logros items y skins a los demás como si hubiese hecho una gran proeza de vida, -Si sos de esos que no sabe jugar solo y que pregunta siempre si hay alguien para jugar online porque sino se aburre y no juega. -Si sos de esos que no disfrutan una mier-da de lo que esta haciendo en el momento y quiere pasarse los juegos lo mas rápido posible para pasar al siguiente juego. -Si sos de esos que juegan con otros y en lugar de jugar como se debe, se la pasa troleando al resto como imb3cil -Si no te compras tus propios juegos porque usas la tarjeta de tu papí o mamí o te compras los juegos a costas del trabajo de otros. -Si jugas todos los días de la semana mas de 4 horas y mantenés este promedio sin importar lo que pase, -Si estas familiarizado con términos como flipflop, half-flip, flip-reset. -Si sos de hablaispana pero intercalas palabras en ingles solo porque necesitas sentirte en onda y decis en reiteradas ocasiones palabras tales como "nice" o "chase" y no sos ningun profesor de ingles ni nada solo hablas así por moda, no solo este juego no es para vos sino que también mereces una buena paliza. Para eso anda a jugar al among us, minecraft o fortnite, rocket league o CSGO y a hablar pelotudeces por streaming mientras le pedis la lechita a tu vieja "bicos iu jav chu faders, tu nait tu nait fac fac fac an den iu jav a problem". Pero si no calificas dentro de ningún punto de los mencionados anteriormente, entonces TE LO RECOMIENDO ABSOLUTAMENTE!!!. Porque esta muy bueno!!. Aunque su precio de 30 dólares..., por 4 horas?!!! Están locos. Estos son como los de la costa Argentina, se quieren salvar todo el año con los únicos giles que van por 15 días a sus playas. En fin, el juego es bueno si, pero por 30 dólares es muy caro para lo corto que es. Así que lo recomiendo pero con una buena oferta. tipo 5 o a lo sumo 7 dólares pero no mas.

It's not really a game, it's more of a movie that you are in the room for. You can freely maneuver the map to see what each character is up to at any given point. At the beginning I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it, but I did. The story was fairly slow at the start, but got more interesting as it went on. You really have to watch the story progress from each character's point of view to get a full idea of what's going on, as there are side plots and other happenings behind the scenes. The story is pretty short, taking only around 3 to 4 hours to complete. I clocked in 5 hours, but I went back to finish up some collectibles and missed achievements. I would recommend the game, although at a deep discount as the retail price is a bit steep for what it is.

The game just crashes when I start it in VR on three different computers (when one of them is a laptop). The devs just ignore the crash reports, which I send everytime. Nothing is fixed. Massive dissapointment, 'cause the game looks really good.

It seems like a good game based on other reviews, but unfortunately, I was unable to play it due to the voices not working. If you do buy the game, I suggest trying to play the first 10 minutes and checking if the NPC voices are working. If they aren't, do not play the game for more than 2 hours, as you will be less likely to get a refund (I spent 5 hours trying to figure out the audio issues, but was unable to resolve it). And the company Tequila Works is no longer running, so there is no way to get support for the game anymore.

An interesting format for storytelling, but the story they tell is "we should sacrifice ourselves to Elon Musk because he's a genius that will save humanity." Booooo. I know media literacy is dead because zero reviews mention this and it is not even the subtext of the game, it is just the text.

This was one of the coolest ways to experience a story, in my opinion. There wasn't really much gameplay, however being able to walk around the set, follow any character that interested you, and piece together what is happening in your own time is an incredible experience. I can't think of any other game that has done this and that is a real loss to us all, as it is just a wonderful way to see a story play out. It's watching a movie, but you have control of the camera and can examine anything you want, whenever you want.

As advertised, it's an immersive interactive experience. Playable without VR and is pretty enjoyable. I'd get it at a steep discount though. It takes about 5 hours to see all the storylines. It's not crazy spectacular but it's also not awful. I enjoyed my time for sure.

If you like mystery games this one is for you! I absolutely loved it. Played it multiple times.
