The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça and Pizzaboy is a point-and-click adventure rooted in the cult comic series of the same name, developed by OKAM Studio and published by Ravenscourt. Like the comics, it blends supernatural noir, absurd urban mythology, and sardonic humor into a detective story that refuses to take itself too seriously. Set in a stylized version of Lisbon where monsters live among humans in uneasy secrecy, the narrative follows Eurico—once just an unlucky pizza delivery guy, now an underpaid assistant to Dog Mendonça, a gruff but well-meaning werewolf private investigator. Their partnership becomes the entry point into a mystery involving missing creatures, hidden conspiracies, bureaucratic supernatural organizations, and eccentric characters who seem only half-surprised by the bizarre world they inhabit. The writing has a self-aware charm, finding comedy in both pulp tropes and the mundane frustrations of everyday life, and it carries the story with energetic personality. As an adventure game, it embraces classic genre structure—exploration, dialogue, inventory puzzles, and environmental problem solving—while injecting modern sensibilities into pacing and usability. Each scene contains objects to examine, characters to interrogate, clues to collect, and improbable solutions to concoct by combining items that logically fit only within the game’s comedic universe. The puzzles tend to be fair rather than intentionally obscure, relying on observation and humor rather than moon logic. When the game does push players toward unconventional thinking, it usually rewards them with a punchline or clever narrative payoff. The inclusion of an internal hint system ensures players rarely get stuck long enough to lose momentum, making the experience friendlier to newcomers without sacrificing the satisfaction of solving puzzles through intuition. What elevates the experience is the tone—both playful and earnest, never undercutting its own emotional stakes. Eurico, Dog, and their undead, demonic, and otherwise monstrous associates may seem ridiculous on paper, but the game treats their struggles with surprising sincerity. Conversations equip each character with personality, history, and believable motivations, even when the world around them feels surreal. The banter among the main cast is especially enjoyable, filled with affectionate mockery, exasperated loyalty, and meta-commentary about detective fiction. Fans of the comic series will appreciate how faithfully the adaptation captures its voice, but newcomers will still find the humor accessible and inviting. Visually, the game adopts an illustrated style that closely mirrors the comics, offering expressive character designs, textured backgrounds, and layouts reminiscent of graphic novels. Environments feel hand-crafted, filled with visual jokes, supernatural Easter eggs, and cinematic angles that reinforce noir atmosphere without abandoning levity. The animation is limited compared to high-budget productions, but it suits the artistic direction and keeps the world visually cohesive. The soundtrack supports that tone with jazzy, mysterious, and sometimes playful pieces that evoke midnight streets, smoky diners, and shadowy alleyways where the supernatural hides in plain sight. Voice acting varies, but the lead performances capture humor and emotional nuance well enough to give the dialogue weight. The pacing is well structured, balancing exploration and puzzle-solving with narrative development, though some players may feel the adventure is shorter than expected or wish for broader environments to explore. A few puzzles rely more on trial and error than deductive reasoning, and certain scenes reveal the limitations of the game’s budget—stiff animations, sparse transitions, or abrupt tonal shifts. Because the story leans heavily on humor, moments meant to be thrilling or dramatic may not resonate equally with every player. Still, these issues rarely overshadow the game’s strengths, functioning more as reminders that this is a mid-sized passion project rather than a blockbuster production. Ultimately, The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça and Pizzaboy succeeds because it understands what makes classic adventure games memorable—distinct characters, clever writing, a sense of place, and puzzles that serve narrative rather than interrupt it. Its supernatural detective premise gives it an identity separate from the genre’s many comedic point-and-click entries, and its sincerity prevents the humor from becoming hollow or disposable. Whether someone approaches it as a fan of the comics, a lover of quirky adventure games, or simply a player seeking something stylish, funny, and character-driven, it offers a charming, tightly crafted experience with heart. It may not redefine its genre, but it embraces its creative world with such enthusiasm that it’s hard not to be pulled in—and even harder not to leave smiling. Rating: 7/10
The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça and Pizzaboy is a good point and click adventure game, so what is the story. When you were younger you must have heard all the stories about monsters, demons, vampires and creatures that go bump in the night, you were told that they do not exist, that they're all fantasy. But the people told you that they weren't real are wrong, monsters do exist. But the monsters and humans are separated due to the code that was written by the Elder monsters after the second world war and one of its writers was the legendary werewolf and paranormal detective Dog Mendonça. Dog Mendonça along with his Partners Eurico Catatau AKA Pizza Boy and the demon Pazuul have had many adventures and this is one of them, when a beautiful young woman talks about a mysterious curse it's up to pizza boy to discover the truth when his partner and boss dog Mendonça disappears it’s up to the unpaid intern must discover the truth and put this case to rest. Now likes, the gameplay is good it's your standard point and click game, gather items and combine them in order to solve puzzles to advance, nothing really complicated, but there is something that helps this game to stand out and that’s interrogations, as a detective or in this case a detectives apprentice we can interrogate suspects and try and suss out their motivations and while its generally just picking the right dialogue option, it still made the gameplay interesting, we also have a fighting mini game where we get to fight with certain characters it was okay nothing really to write home about honestly it probably would have been better to remove it. The story is really good it has plenty of great twists and turns and the clues are laid out very well and easy to follow that if you use a little brain work you can piece together the whole mystery pretty quickly, there's also nothing that feels convoluted or ridiculous, and even though you can figure out most of the Mysteries are still some parts that can surprise you. The story also has a bit of good lgbtq representation which was a nice surprise, also this game is based off of a comic series but don't worry you don't need to read the comics in order to understand the characters or the world, the game does a good job in setting that all up, with some slight references to the comics. Lastly the story makes plenty of references to classic horror and sci-fi, some obvious, some not so obvious. The graphics are very good it has a nice comic book feel to it, it has well detailed levels with a nice use of colors and designs that really help everything stand out and capture the feel of a comic book that just makes you want to stop and stare at each new section of the game. The levels are good quite diverse with plenty of great places to look at with very good detail and that makes you want to explore and see all the little touches and scenery that brings this world to life , also to see all the different references to classic horror and sci-fi. The characters were good each one had their own Unique Designs and personalities like the old Gruff detective, the young Newby and such but done with a Lucas arts twist. I particularly like the villain he was quite messed up and if I made a list of top 10 point and click villains he would definitely be in it. The voice acting was okay I've heard better in other point and click games, I'm not saying this game had the worst voice acting some characters sounded perfect well others could use some work. The music was good had plenty of nice songs that you could just sit back and listen to as you go through the game. Now dislikes, the game can be a bit short you can beat it about 4 maybe 5 hours, it's also a bit expensive like $15 seems a bit much for a game that’s this short. The game doesn't have any achievements which kind of feels weird because this feels like a game that needs achievements, lastly there's no way to delete your save file which was also kind of dumb. Okay then now that I told you all this The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça and Pizzaboy is a good point and click adventure game, it has good gameplay, a really good story and good characters, so I do recommend getting this game if you're looking for a point and click game done in the style of classics like Lucas Arts then I recommend it, but I do say wait till it's on sale just to save a couple of bucks.
such a fun and short point&click game! I love the art style, humor and characters. much love! Pls make a sequel :p
Не запоминающий квест, много не понятного американизма , если его не знаешь игра становится проходной.
Bueno (7/10) Una aventura gráfica clásica point and click. Con buena historia y personajes.
totally underestimated how long this game would take me lol. thought it was something i could pick up before bed and ended up spending all night going back and forth between puzzles while being sleep-deprived. quite liked the story and art despite never heard of the original comic series, but the voice acting could be better. the ratio between reading and interactive gameplay is appropriate if you’re not really an avid reader.
5/10
