About
On Sunday the 7th of March, 1936, a group of locals made their way up the long, muddy track to Galley House. As far as any of them knew, the house had stood empty for decades.
Inside, they discovered the bloody aftermath of something horrific.
The authorities were summoned, and the crime scene was eventually cleared away. But nobody ever figured out what happened that dreadful night. It seemed likely that no one ever would.
Now, many years later, you have access to a peculiar machine — one that lets you listen in on echoes of the past. Can you piece together the events behind The Incident at Galley House?

A genuinely amazing mystery/puzzle game. It does a great job of teaching you how to play intuitively and stayed fun throughout the entire play time. To me this game feels like a combination of The Roottrees and Dead and Return of the Obra Dinn. I highly recommend if you like either of those games or if you like similar games such as The Seance at Blake Manor, Cultist Simulator, or even Outer Wilds. This is definitely one of those games that you can only play for the first time once.
Absolutely fantastic detective game that requires good deductive skills. The story and the main mystery itself was a nice surprise, finding the explanation caused a big AHA moment where suddenly everything clicked and made sense.

I wasn't prepared to binge like this
非常棒的微硬核推理。 这种主动思考一步步推敲的感觉非常棒。 尤其是第二圈的时候,那种回忆里突然多塞一个人进去的感觉。新颖而震撼
We shouldn't forget that this game was made with typehelp as it's base, so i will review it as an "upgrade" from typehelp. There is a lot to love, the backgrounds and voice acting are amazing and shout out to all the voice actors, they poured their heart into it. The "extra" puzzles are nice (to determine how a character looks like, though it does not really matter until the final puzzle) The extra section was a nice addition, though it does not justify for me the 20 euro pricetag. and what it adds in style and content it takes away in atmosphere and twists (for example, person 12 and K are secrets they never mention, you just had to figure it out based on the style of the game. same for locations with them being underlined.) I expected going into this to have a second mystery as long as Roottreemania, the equivalent section felt quite short with a lot of obvious clues of where everyone is. It felt dissatisfying to also not get any awnser on why this event happened in the first place. It also had some small loopholes in the final section (why is Erving hidden from us for so long? Was it because he was alive when we started the second investigation? but we could freely looked at ourself during the seance and our character is still alive.) only buy if you want to support the developpers, which you should, even if i'm slightly disapointed in this game.
10/10 game it's been so long since a game got me this excited to pick it back up after running out of time to play it. So glad I waited for the weekend to binge this game.
I played "Type Help" more than a year ago and have been looking forward to this version of the game ever since then. Even if you played the original this is well worth your time.
Do you love “& then there were none”? Coincidentally, I just watched a reimagining of the play recently and that spurred my decision to buy this game day one. My track record: I’m a huge sucker for these puzzle games (Return of the Obra Dinn / Rootrees are Dead / Lorelei & The Laser Eyes / Case of the Golden Idol ) I had not touch the original “Type Help” text-based game at all. But you know what’s the testament for how much I loved it? Whilst I was out on my workday, I couldn’t stop thinking about Galley House and started up “Type Help” to get me through my morbid curiosity. Those small ‘tests’ helped to solidify some of my theories and I rushed home to see the full scene in the Galley House. This is a game that needs you to be crystal clear on the order in which things happen and to latch on to conversational nuggets. It’s not hard and does lack a quantity of ‘a-ha’ moments. But the light bulb moments… they do shine bright. One of the biggest ones is a huge deviation from the original ‘Type Help’ so I still strongly recommend original players to come and try the remake!
My instinct is to stay away from anything horror, but this premise had me intrigued. So I took a chance. I am glad I did. Is the game a little unnerving? Yeah. Did I close my eyes when starting the power? Yeah. Was it worth it? Heck yeah. If you can play Creature Kitchen, you can play this. I still have more to learn but I rolled credits and loved it. I could go on but I hate writing on my steam deck.
