About
On Sunday the 7th of March, 1936, a group of locals made their way up the long, muddy track to Galley House. As far as any of them knew, the house had stood empty for decades.
Inside, they discovered the bloody aftermath of something horrific.
The authorities were summoned, and the crime scene was eventually cleared away. But nobody ever figured out what happened that dreadful night. It seemed likely that no one ever would.
Now, many years later, you have access to a peculiar machine — one that lets you listen in on echoes of the past. Can you piece together the events behind The Incident at Galley House?

I was hooked by this puzzle/murder mystery game from start to finish! Coming from the developer of The Roottrees Are Dead, my expectations were high, and they were completely met: • The deduction system is brilliantly designed, giving you plenty of leads without leaving you stuck. • The story kept me engaged throughout. I'm usually the type to skip lore, but here I paid attention to every conversation to uncover the mystery. • The pacing is excellent, introducing new mechanics and increasing the difficulty without ever feeling overwhelming. I loved The Roottrees Are Dead, but The Incident at Galley House feels like an even more polished take on the formula. An easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys deduction games. I hope this game gets the recognition it deserves!
As the others say very good deduction game, very cool creepy story. 12 hours cleartime and boy I did not take any breaks.
Coming from the team of The Roottrees Are Dead and teaming up with William Rous, the developer of the game this is a remake of (Type Help), I knew I was in for a good deduction game. I wasn't disappointed. The Incident at Galley House has you using a machine in a spooky abandoned house to peek into the past, starting with one mystery and ending with a different one. It doesn't hold your hand (unless you use hints; there's no penalty and the game tells you this) but it also doesn't expect you to be Sherlock Holmes, glancing everything in one go. There's ample tools to help you remember things: markers for segments on the timeline so you can signal pivotal events; a way to highlight individual dialogue; a notebook to type out your own notes; and even a search function to just look up words or phrases through every scene you've witnessed in case you need to recall where someone said something. It's not perfect; I wish there were more art of the characters as you only ever get full portraits if they're standing. If they're sitting or doing anything else, you get a circular profile photo near their head with an arrow. This is fine, I guess, with one or two characters in a scene but really looks silly when you have a group of people sitting around a dinner table and they're ghostly silhouettes. There's also some UI jank that can be a bit spoiler-y if explained in a review, but it's pretty easy to spot! This game took me about 10.5 hours to finish and 12 hours total to get 100% of the achievements and I had a blast. If you're looking for a good mystery to solve, you can't do much better and you can do a whole lot worse.
Please, please go into this game as blind as possible. I was hooked from the title screen. Incredible experience. I can't wait to play through this again one day...
A very satisfying mystery. The endgame in particular had a lovely little twist to bring the whole thing together.
Phenomenal mystery game to scratch that itch of pulling at threads to unravel a plot. I can't say any more, because if this is the sort of game that appeals to you, that first sentence was enough and you'd appreciate that I said no more.
If you liked Roottrees you'll love this. Had an absolute blast with it and very much enjoyed working to fill in the gaps.
A really great mystery game, with a great story and interesting mechanic
Another banger Obra Dinn-Like from the same people of The Roottrees are Dead. In a way both reminded me a lot of Her Story. Roottrees for that search engine system, and this one for having me assembling pieces of a timeline of events. And of course amazing twists. I don't remember feeling so gaslighted by a game before.
