About
On Sunday the 7th of March, 1936, a group of locals made their way up the long, muddy track to Galley House. As far as any of them knew, the house had stood empty for decades.
Inside, they discovered the bloody aftermath of something horrific.
The authorities were summoned, and the crime scene was eventually cleared away. But nobody ever figured out what happened that dreadful night. It seemed likely that no one ever would.
Now, many years later, you have access to a peculiar machine — one that lets you listen in on echoes of the past. Can you piece together the events behind The Incident at Galley House?

Absolutely captivating! I basically finished it in one sitting because you just HAVE to keep going! Has a better flow than Roottree's and the voice acting is pretty good too!
Listen to me. There may be a point where it seems kind of grind-y and like all you're doing is filling in missing pieces. I need you to look me in the text and power through. Absolutely stellar offering from the Roottree developers and I need them to get started on the next one.
What you think is the beginning to act 3 is really the end of act 1
I received a press copy of the game for free, but I massively enjoyed my experience and recommend this game if you enjoy deduction/mystery games! These are really my version of a cozy game - I love getting completely absorbed into these stories and working to organize notes and understand each aspect of the story to sift through important details. I didn't play the original Type Help, but from what I understand reading through comments, the story has been essentially unchanged. I enjoyed the mechanics of the game - it's presented as sort of a visual novel style, but I enjoyed that it was fully voice acted. I found it challenging enough at certain points to really make the moments where I figured things out very satisfying. I played through this game pretty continuously until I finished it, because I thought the story was very interesting and I always felt like I was right on the edge of discovering a secret. Sometimes it's kinda hard to review mystery games without giving anything away, but I would say if you're a fan of Return of the Obra Dinn, The Roottrees are Dead, or just mysteries in general, this is a great story and feels like time well spent.
Finished it, I liked it.
알고 해도 재밌다
Type Help has long been an amazing hybrid of puzzling and storytelling. This remaster is made with so much love and craftsmanship, adding in voice acting and a much more effective interface. If you never played Type Help, I recommend you ignore its existence and dive into this game, and prepare for an unforgettable story that really sticks the landing. If you have played Type Help, I have to admit that the new content won't extend your playtime by very much, and the story that you remember is virtually unchanged. But, even so, I don't regret supporting the original devs for writing an amazing story and releasing it for free.
Really interesting gameplay loop. I'm definitely hooked so far.
I adored the original Type Help. This game is a perfect remake and does the original more than enough justice. Highly recommended and required playing for any fans of narrative mystery puzzles.
My wife and I have been playing The Incident at Galley House and we love it so far! Very much in the vein of games like Return of the Obra Dinn, Her Story, The Roottrees Are Dead, and the Golden Idol series. Galley House has a very fun mechanic where you nonlinearly trace each suspect's whereabouts through a mansion over the course of a night. I particularly enjoy the nonlinear aspect, it constantly feels like we are getting stuck and then having breakthroughs as we find new information that opens up a huge range of new options. Along with that, the visuals have the same hand-drawn feel as The Roottrees (and, in the age of generative AI, it's refreshing to see human-made visuals with a genuine art style!). TL;DR: This is Golden Idol meets Agatha Christie, in the best way!
