This is a difficult review because do I think this is a bad game? No. But ultimately the question is would I recommend this game? And regrettably the answer is also no, at least for now. I found it difficult to find info before I played the game on what the actual gameplay loop is like, so for anyone wondering here is my experience: You make some money by fishing, picking up berries etc around the village and selling them, and doing odd jobs for villagers via quests from noticeboards or via your mailbox. You use that money to recruit villagers (blacksmiths, gardeners etc) and once they're recruited, you can make their respective production items (blacksmith -> copper bars etc). You can also do recreational activities (the only one I found so far was painting) and occasionally when doing these skills I would get inspiration pop ups that give you a small quest to complete in a limited time which I liked. There is a "community centre" of sorts for people who like filling up collections and you have a town goal that you select to work towards - similar to life aspirations in Sims 4. Rule with an iron fist, be good friends with everyone, stuff like that. There were things I loved about this game - the music is lovely and the art style is cohesive and well done. There were also cute immersive elements like the villagers waving to you as you walk past that I enjoyed. I also loved the minigame in the pub! However, these immersive elements were counteracted by things that ruined the immersion for me. The pub was always empty. The fish in the rivers are just wiggling gifs who don't move. There was a jpeg of a bird sitting on the grass completely still, no chirping or pecking the ground for worms. The trees don't move in the wind, and theres no fluttering leaves falling. All these little details (or lack thereof) made it all feel a bit flat and lifeless. I did love walking in to the village on Sunday to hear church bells, but when I went to the church there was no way for me to interact with anything going on there, just stand in the door and watch. The map is also quite barren and incredibly square - all the paths are right angles, every pond has squared edges, and there are large areas with simply nothing in it. It makes the place feel a bit unnatural. I understand that later in the game you can decorate these areas yourself, but it would be nice if at the start of the game they were maybe run down areas that you improve over time instead of... nothing. There were also some elements that I just felt a bit more thought could be put into, for example coming across a sign where all the text on it is in the default font and left aligned. It would be much more immersive if when I clicked on it it looked like a sign and not like a word document. It just overall felt a bit unpolished - if the NPC has a long bit of dialogue, it's revealed gradually and the more they say the smaller the text gets to fit inside the box. It would feel a little better if it was split up into separate dialogues, or perhaps just put in bigger text box. A couple of times the hitboxes on things were a bit wonky, like I would find myself missing trees or rocks, and sometimes when moving between scenes I would "miss" the exit and find myself hitting a wall. There are also some visual glitches that you can see in the trailer on the store page, which I'm sure will get ironed out over time, but worth noting. I really wanted to love this, and I do think it could eventually be a game I love, but unfortunately I wasn't sold by the first two hours enough to keep it when there are imo better games at the same price point. I totally understand it's still in early access and that some of what I've said might sound a bit petty, but I would like this game to succeed and that requires honest and thorough feedback about why I wouldn't recommend it. I will definitely check back later in development!
I just discovered a hidden gem of a game, and OMG why did no one tell me about this sooner?! Imagine Stardew Valley… but you’re not just farming you’re running an entire Edwardian-inspired village like some cute, cozy dictator. You can even start a cult if you’re feeling ✨spicy✨. And yes, you get to decorate your villagers’ houses too, because interior design is life. 💖 The farming? Stress-free. The animal care? Adorable. The mining? Addictive to the point that “one more run” becomes 3 hours. The fishing? Finally a fishing mini-game that doesn’t make me cry. Has mini games Hopefully, there would be a plan for festivals and holiday 💖 There are so many quests, and romance is coming soon! Even though it’s still early access, I barely encountered any bugs like, this game is more stable than my mental health. I can’t wait for the full release. Plus, the dev is super active and friendly on Discord. Love it so much 😭💖
It'd be alright if not for the mining aspect. I'm still on the first mining area and just had to quit the game because of how frustrating it is. Everything hits harder than me, I have very little life and it all respawns every day so there's no slowly clearing it out. Progress in the mine is so slow because of all the enemies getting stronger while I only have a copper pickaxe. There's no armor that I can tell, and the pickaxe as a weapon sucks. All I can do is spam click mining in the air in hopes to hit the enemy and knock it away before it hits me until it dies... and that doesn't work too well. The food doesn't really restore health either so taking a bunch in the mine is useless. I hate the mine so much that I don't want to play this game anymore. I hope it gets changed for the better. If it get's better further into the mine you go, well I'll never know because I'm not playing the game again unless mining is fixed somehow.
I absolutely loved this cute little colony management sim. It is set in old country England and I loved the incorporation of the red post boxes into the game as the sell box. I would highly recommend this game to anyone wanting a spin on the classic farming sim genre.
i dont like pixel games like stardew valley, and that isnt what this is. it is its own and has a uk village vibe to it. aparetly romance is being added at a later date but for EARLY ACCES game this one is great so far, doesnt really hold your hand . some things you have to figure out for yourself because nothing is really found on the web. cant wait to see what is to come. this one has potential and active devs!

Fans of stardew and mistria, this one is definitely for you!
Absolutely incredible. it's been so much fun! There are minor things like shells taking forever to spawn but as a avid collector of ALL things, it just means i take a daily walk over to the beach. Fishing was way easier once i set my own action button, which i adore being able to do. The story line is fantastic and I would suggest this to anyone who's sick of DDLV micro transactions and FOMO. Cozy, Cute, Relaxing, and so quaint.
Wow. This is a lovely game that I did not expect to be as extensive and expansive at it is. I was immediately taken with the various aspects of the gameplay, art style, and characters. Fans of Echoes of the Plum Grove, Grimshire, and Fields of Mistria will love this. Even in the game's current EA state, there is a ton of content to explore. To the creator/dev of this game, if you are reading this, you have truly created something unique and special here. I want to see it succeed and get more popular. Keep up the amazing work and congrats on loving your new full time role. Can't wait to see where development leads!
I love this game. I can't wait for it to develop over time. You really should try this game.
