6/10 – The Henchmen kept reminding me of GTA 1, which is both a compliment and a catastrophic mistake. Every car chase awakened ancient memories of pixelated perfection… then I drove into a wall and remembered this isn’t 1997 anymore. Game is fun, soundtrack is good, but my nostalgia arrived armed and dangerous. 🚔💣🎶 Follow me for retro gang wars, terrible driving choices, and games forever trapped in the shadow of GTA 1. 🚗🕹️ https://store.steampowered.com/curator/42602807-Osiris-Reviews/
A good GTA 1 with some Hotline Miami shooting style game but for sure with the specific problems like GTA 1 you gonna hit a lot of environment and some of those hits gonna feel heavy going with high speed so take your time with it and hit that power slider. Groovy ost and with small but fun different choices you can make in the game story missions.
Гта 1 и 2 лучше чем эта игра. Хотлайн Майами лучше чем эта игра. Вопрос, зачем эта игра, она ни то ни другое, возврат
There are a lot of great things here... I want to thank the developers for making this game. It's got a lot of potential. I give it a "check it out" rather than a hard recommend. I think I will be back... the main issue for me right now is the AMMO. You really should be able to buy ammo separately. The driving is okay but could use some work. Some of the cars slide just a bit too much but I'm sure that can be fixed down the road. The Melee should really be a last resort. Maybe if you incorporated a stealth option to the gameplay rather than forcing the Melee... it might fit better with the overall Mafia theme. Anyway the game just came out so hopefully after some time, perhaps the combat system will get better. I really feel bad about refunding this game... the only reason I am refunding it is because I don't think I'll come back to it at its current state. I want to support the developer because I like this project but I would just be wasting $10 on my part. I will FOLLOW this game and check up on the updates to see where it has gone. Looking forward to seeing this game grow. Check my channel out: https://www.youtube.com/@4Itchy4EVER
First off, the music was HORRIBLE. Turning it off made the game VERY boring. I would have LOVED random crappy music bits in the cars, instead of the " 90s" inspired garbage they offered in a menu, for music that played constantly. There could have been funny radio ads, maybe the ability to add custom music if they couldn't just add generic country and rock to make it feel like a city in the 90s. Secondly, No scroll zooming , and the "free camera thing " is dumb. The car should zoom the camera out as you speed up. That should be common sense. But instead when you speed up , your car moves to the bottom of the screen so you can't see behind you. The awkward free camera attempts to solve this, but feels janky. Live camera zooming would have solved this. I REALLY , REALLY , wanted to love this game. Its not bad if you love terrible techno music, and havent evloved to learning how to play with a MOUSE and CONTROLLER, like a PC gamer. If you use just a controller, or mouse and keyboard, then , well go play GTA 1 on the Playstation. Your missing out. But for a PC , Its playable with a Controller Remapping APP like Anti-Micro. Still, The lack of MUSIC in the game killed it for me. Funny that you can purchase the soundtrack for this....... If you had 2 copies of the game, Then BOTH players could use a Controller Mapping App....But then again , The game is NOT online multiplayer, SO, 1 person would have to use just a controller......... Like a Caveman......or console user....
Interesting little game. It's a very nice mix of GTA 1 & 2 with Hotline Miami. In many ways it reminds me of Retro City Rampage or Shakedown Hawaii, if those were 3D games. Drive through the story or complete side quests, find permanent upgrades scattered across the world, steal cars, mug people, blow up cop cars. If you enjoy top down action games with crazy stories and lots of things to do while not outstaying its welcome, I highly recommend The Henchmen.
A competent take on a top down open world game mixing Hotline Miami-like combat with GTA1-like exploration. At first the HM-like segments looked underwhelming, but in gameplay they are much better than anticipated. Driving is somewhat tough and takes time getting used to, especially at the start of the game, in winter time. Driving games from Driver also make an appearance, with missions like Chase, Getaway, Survival. Once the combat "clicks", it becomes pretty satisfying and you can get into a smooth flow of actions. The CRT filter and texture filtering is optional, too - so you can tailor the game's looks to how you prefer the most.
Old school gta vibes. Love it.
good ♥♥♥♥
20 minutes in and I got my money back. Fun if you want a GTA 1 and 2 Copy/Paste with grainy graphics and terrible music. Not to mention the mechanics. Hard Pass
