This is definitely my kind of game. The creator has created and excellent game with a ton of activities, a great story, expansive areas to explore, optional boss fights, a robust crafting system, a ton of weapons and armor to find, hidden locations to seek out and much much more. I'm loving it so I want to thank the developer for a job well done.
Just finished beating this game last week. And it was quite a long journey. I found this game at TooManyGames in June 2018 after meeting the developers. I told them that I didn't even need to play the demo they had there, I knew I was going to like the game based on the trailer they had playing. I was in the market for a new console style rpg and I hopped on this game since it was on sale at the convention. The game features a large ensemble cast, ranging from all the classic D&D classes (and some obscure ones). The game advertises 17 playable characters. There are actually more than that, but they aren't all permanent. So there's definitely something for everyone. The game map is also huge. There's close to 20 cities with a diverse pool of npc. And then there's caves, dungeons, etc. Around the halfway point in the game, you get the option to build a city by recruiting some disgruntled citizens from other towns and depending on who you recruit in the new town, you get a different type of city, and you can always switch citizens to make a new town and collect items and interact with NPC's. Alright, so, if hard games are not your thing, this game might not be your thing. This game is not easy and forces you to approach combat strategically. Enemies hit hard, and apply debuffs. The game provides you with the opportunity to craft any items that can protect you from status ailments. Crafting...this is going to eat up a lot of your money and resources. I suggest you not sell your items, because you will need them to craft items. The game gives you a very extensive crafting system, which, I love. But also hated. There's a lot to craft, and a lot of the achievements are tied to crafting. But you get some great items out of your hard work. When I first got the game, there were a few glitches here and there. I ended up doing a let's play for the game, which, the developers happen to watch and made a bunch of changes to the game throughout the year long activity. Which brings up how responsive the team is to any bugs. They have a discord channel with a community of people who can help when you're stuck in the game. I recommend joining that. Overall, I enjoyed the game and I would definitely recommend playing the game. However, do note that this game is not easy, and you'll have to farm, grind, and all those time consuming activities. So, if you got the free time and the dedication, go ahead and pick it up! I give the game a solid 8/10
O jogo poderia ter uma tradução para o Português. muito bom.
Let me preface by saying i met thes guys at Retro World Expo in Connecticut. Great team. So i got far enough into the game to encounter my first big boss. Pros: Great music. everything sounds the way you would imagine it Great art style. Looks similar enough to some older titles to feel nostalgic, but does a good job at differentiating itself, artwise. Great UI/Controls. Cant tell you how many times a great game is killed by an over complicated UI and garbage controls. You will find a great UI and easy controls here. Cons: Not enough graphic variance in different weapons. I have a club that looks exactly the same as something called a rusty nail. Id imagine a rusty nail to have a graphic like a dagger, or some other weapon.....not a stick. Attack animations dont match up. Whenever you command any unit so far to attack, the weapon will appear first, then the arm will swing the weapon, and they wont be lined up with eachother. The weapon always floats above, or beyond the reach of a character. No real way that ive discovered so far(correct me if im wrong) to see what various status effects do. This is a digital title, so it coming with no manual is expected. Not knowing what a status effect does makes it a little harder to prepare for a zone unless you get hit with the effect first. All things considered, this is shaping up to be a great game so far. In my humble opinion, it is deffinetly worth the asking price.
GREAT homebrew game. If you're looking for a classic RPG style, look no further. The Great Gaias gives you that nostalgia feel without any of the terribly long load times.
I have played a few RPG Maker games and found this one and Last Dream best. This as allround "JRPG" (yes it feels like any classic JRPG) and Last Dream for fun grinding only. If you want to complete everything in this game, so expect it takes 100+ hours ;) 9/10
So far I am 12 hours in and am loving this game! Love the story and the characters are very well developed. Love seeing a new skill unlock at level up. Very polished. Can't say enough good things and definitely worth the price paid. Anyone into classic JRPGs or someone just looking for a good story should definitely check this out.
I'm really enjoying my play through of this game. Reminds me a lot of old Final Fantasy's. There are a bunch of playable characters each with intricate backstories. The main story is interesting and engaging, with well-written dialogue. Tons of items and equipment to customize. Lots of towns and areas to explore. Really, everything you want in a good RPG. The game offers a good level of challenge and won't let you breeze through without a bit of leveling and a good strategy. The menu takes some getting used to but eventually becomes second nature. Overall a good experience with tons of lore to dive into.
well built, RPG with some unique mechanics, a great story and soundtrack, and classic styling. crafting system allows great ginding for omnipotence, devs are really committed to their work. very much worth the time. cost : entertainment ratio very high
Really fun game, met the creators at PAX West 2021. The game plays and feels like an old school RPG Final Fantasy 6 era.
