The Great Below

The Great Below is a videogame yes, but is also a desolate art museum, a philosophical exploration on loneliness and the pursuit of knowledge and meaning, a study on human fragility, a post-horror experience and probably a lot more things that I haven´t realized just yet but the game keeps just appearing in my thoughts long after I finished it, making me wonder if I truly understood all the messages it tried to convey. It is also cruel, perverse & claustrophobic, from the obtuse controls, the narrow spaces, the restricted camera views and the obscure lore, I learned to appreciate how all these things work together like cogs in a dark, ruthless industrial machine that is tuned to perfection to forcefully convey the message that the studio wanted to convey. A bold, unique and necessary experience in today´s world of cliched horror experiences. Give it a try and immerse yourself in it and it will not disappoint.

He recibido el juego de forma gratuita para hacer el gameplay, por petición del desarrollador. Buen juego de puzles, algunos facilitos y otros un poquito más rebuscados, con pistas para facilitar la resolución de los puzles. Tecnicamente correcto con aire retro a lo PS1 y con buena ambientación, también gracias a la música y los FX. Con una buena historia filosófica y sobrenatural detrás. Un juego muy oscuro e inquietante. Muchas gracias por el juego. Que obtengáis una feliz y fructuosa trayectoria en el sector. The art and the music creates a fantastic and dark atmosphere, and the exploration creates a sense of vulnerability that keeps you in constant tension. All the elements the game has work together to create an unique game that keeps you playing from start to finish.

The Great Below offers a brief but focused horror experience, featuring a deeply atmospheric journey and a lot of creative ideas that will throw you for a loop and serve to steadily amplify the horror aspect throughout the game. It's relatively short runtime (while still being more then fitting its price) also serves as one of it's strengths, making sure that its unique set of mechanics doesn't overstay their welcome. All in all, a welcome experience for all fans of puzzle and/or horror games.

I don’t usually play horror games (they are too spooky for me) but I've loved “The Great Below”. The atmosphere of being watched and the claustrophobic and existential pressure that surrounds the game is chilling, and they create a rich and evolving universe that unravels in front of the player. 10/10 ^_^

Awesome game with a superb ambience. The OST is mind blowing. I tried it in Steam deack and it works great.

Excelente juego, muy original. Una dificultad bastante ajustada con buenos puzzles. La mecánica de moverse solo con el mapa a oscuras y poder acceder a la vista 3D solo durante unos segundos usando las cerillas me parece una idea buenísima. Una pequeña joya oculta en Steam, muy recomendable.
