About
Journalist Naomi Hayward is drowning in debt and is at the end of her rope. Having accepted a request from The Morning Bell newspaper to “uncover the mystery of a small English town”, Naomi finds herself far from her home in New York, in Rainy Woods. Upon beginning her investigation, Naomi – camera in hand – soon discovers an inexplicable phenomenon in which the townspeople transform into cats and dogs as night falls... Then, as just she’s looking into that particular mystery, a murder occurs... Join her as she attempts to reveal the truth about Rainy Woods.
As a journalist, Naomi is able to earn money by taking photos of Rainy Woods at the request of The Morning Bell and the town’s residents. Also, if she can manage to snap photos of whatever happens to be trending on social media site “Flamingo” and increase her number of followers, she just might be able to earn enough money to make life in this small town that much easier.
Naomi herself eventually becomes able to transform into a cat or dog. Turn into a cat, and gain the ability to jump and climb all over town to explore; or transform into a dog, and use your acute sense of smell to track the town’s residents. Use your respective abilities as a human, cat, and dog wisely to more easily solve the various mysteries and incidents you’ll face.
In Rainy Woods, as long as you’ve got the money, a free and easy life is yours to be enjoyed. Growing vegetables in your garden, brushing up on your culinary skills, exploring the plains, sharing a drink with your fellow townspeople at the local pub... Stay fed, get lots of sleep, keep yourself looking nice and clean, and enjoy daily life in Rainy Woods.
Rainy Woods is full of various spots, as well as an array of events just waiting to happen. Explore the areas around the town to unlock shrines and camping grounds, expand your field of mobility, and enjoy the comfortably open world. Hopping onto a sheep and riding around the hills is just so much fun!

This game rips. It's so surprising not to see more about it online. It's a very well written harvest moon game and It's the antidote to enjoying those games but feeling like all of the dialogue and story is just filler. Sometimes harvest moon will throw a curve ball character and it feels engaging for a while before they slide back into everyone else in the town is generally boring. In this game, every character is unique, opinionated, and a part of their own story. An amazingly fresh take on harvest moon and holds the same janky but inventive energy in gameplay that a lot of these types of games had on ps2.
i know a lot of people on here say the main quest is very short and are upset by that but i loooooove this game. so many side quests to complete and a HUGE map to explore. if you like open work gaming this is right up your alley.
Another game from Swery that I've loved. I've played it long ago on gamepass and now I've finished it on steam. Fun but requires knowledge for smooth play - not long after start you get 3 questlines you can do in any order but the recommended order is basically a must otherwise you don't get fast enough the qol unlocks. Also some tricks you just discover as you play, like killing small animals(for example hunting birds) while a cat feeds you etc. Right know the game had few bugs I've encountered but once the game got stuck after a cutscene and I had to reload save. Another con is that garden accessories and most clothes are very grindy to get.
《The Good Life》:荒诞小镇生存模拟器
We have the typical Swery Humor, an irish town with a mystery. An unique Photo monetizing mechanic, you can becone a cat or a dog and a surprisinglycozy game. What can you want more?
A cute game about hating British people and selling Excalibur to pay off your crippling debt.
It's a fun game, alot of the game is chill but it's also the first game where I managed to rage quit. I will definitely try again. Developer an option to save and quit would be nice and to skip or continue with the "challenge" e.g the chicken or the alien cat. Pretty sure it's a skill issue. I rage quit so no I did ot complete the game at this point.
