As a die-hard RTS fan, I know the complex controls can be daunting for some players. That's why I aimed to create an RTS game that's easy to control yet rich in strategy and action. Here, you control just one mech. It can walk, shoot, kill insects, gather resources, build, and summon. This game is my passion project, and I hope to share that passion with more players.
Pre-Battle Phase: Strategize and set up your defenses at your own pace.
Combat Phase: Execute your strategy and unleash your firepower.
Whether it's resource gathering, base building, or attacking, this game keeps you thinking and acting.
This isn't a Roguelike game. It progresses through levels, each ending with a unique boss fight. Defeat the boss to unlock new items and expand your build options. I'm not a fan of reading long descriptions, so I've simplified each module for easy understanding.
Plus, you can team up with a friend to fight off relentless alien swarms! One player handles ground forces, the other takes to the skies, complementing each other.
In the distant future, humanity faces an unprecedented energy crisis. A new energy source, "Force", discovered in outer space, becomes a coveted treasure. The battle for "Force" leads to a prolonged war between humans and vicious alien swarms. In the war’s final stages, both sides have mastered each other’s genetic sequences, creating many half-human, half-alien warriors. On the battlefield, we might see our mutated former comrades. War devours countless lives, and we seem to have forgotten who our real enemy is.

Frontline Crisis is a compact real-time strategy and action hybrid developed by BCQT and published by Gamersky Games that attempts to merge tactical planning with fast-paced combat in a streamlined package. Set in a futuristic science-fiction world where humanity is locked in a desperate struggle against hostile alien insect forces, the game places players directly on the battlefield rather than in the distant command role typical of traditional RTS titles. Instead of managing massive armies or complex resource networks, the experience centers on a single powerful mech unit that must simultaneously defend human territory, construct essential infrastructure, and personally fight through relentless waves of enemies. This design choice gives the game a distinctive identity, combining the immediacy of an action shooter with the strategic decision-making of base-building defense games. The narrative backdrop provides a basic but effective context for the gameplay. In the distant future, humanity discovers a powerful new energy resource known as “Force,” a mysterious substance capable of transforming technology and genetic structures. The discovery quickly escalates into conflict as alien insect species also seek control of this energy source. Both sides begin experimenting with biological manipulation in an attempt to gain the upper hand, leading to increasingly dangerous hybrid creatures appearing on the battlefield. While the story itself is not deeply explored through complex storytelling or cinematic sequences, it serves as a functional framework that justifies the chaotic combat scenarios and the constant pressure placed on the player to defend human strongholds from overwhelming swarms. Gameplay in Frontline Crisis revolves around alternating phases of preparation and active defense. Before each wave of enemies arrives, players must carefully plan their defensive setup. This preparation stage allows them to place buildings, gather resources, and organize their limited infrastructure in ways that maximize survival chances once the attack begins. Strategic placement of structures and upgrades becomes crucial, as the defenses must hold against increasingly aggressive alien assaults. Once the battle phase begins, however, the pace changes dramatically. Players take direct control of their mech, moving across the battlefield to eliminate enemies, repair structures, and adapt their strategy in real time as the situation evolves. One of the game’s most interesting design decisions is the emphasis on controlling a single multifunctional mech rather than commanding large groups of units. This mech acts as the player’s primary tool for nearly every task on the battlefield. It can construct buildings, gather materials, and engage enemies directly with its weapons. By consolidating these roles into one central character, the game removes much of the complexity associated with traditional RTS interfaces while still preserving strategic depth. The result is a system that feels far more accessible, allowing players to focus on tactical positioning and quick decision-making rather than navigating layers of menus or micromanaging dozens of individual units. Enemy encounters form the core challenge of the experience. The alien insect swarms attack in increasingly dangerous waves, forcing players to constantly adjust their defenses and combat approach. Some enemies rush directly toward structures, others attack from the air, and certain types emerge unexpectedly from underground, adding an element of unpredictability to the battles. These varied enemy behaviors ensure that a single defensive strategy rarely works for every encounter. As players progress through the campaign, they must develop flexible tactics that combine effective base design with active combat support from their mech. Levels typically culminate in boss battles that serve as major highlights of the game. These bosses are significantly stronger than normal enemies and often introduce unique mechanics or attack patterns that force players to rethink their strategies. Rather than simply overwhelming the player with numbers, these encounters focus on testing the balance between defensive preparation and active battlefield awareness. Successfully defeating a boss often requires careful timing, effective resource usage, and strategic repositioning of defenses while under pressure. Progression in Frontline Crisis follows a straightforward campaign structure. As players complete missions, they unlock new buildings, weapons, and defensive upgrades that expand the range of possible strategies. This steady progression encourages experimentation, as newly unlocked tools allow players to approach later stages with more advanced tactical options. The gradual introduction of additional mechanics ensures that the game continues evolving throughout its campaign rather than presenting all systems at once. Visually, the game adopts a retro-inspired pixel art style that emphasizes clarity and readability during combat. The battlefield is filled with swarming enemies, projectiles, and explosions, but the clean visual design prevents the action from becoming confusing or overwhelming. The pixel aesthetic also lends the game a nostalgic charm that recalls classic strategy and arcade titles while still feeling modern in its execution. Sound design and music are relatively subtle but effective, providing enough atmosphere to reinforce the tension of defending against relentless alien assaults without distracting from the strategic gameplay. Another notable feature is the inclusion of cooperative gameplay, allowing two players to tackle the battlefield together in local co-op mode. This cooperative option adds an entirely new dynamic to the experience, as players can divide responsibilities between combat and construction tasks. One player might focus on managing defenses and infrastructure while the other actively engages enemy swarms with the mech. This shared responsibility can make difficult encounters more manageable and also enhances the game’s replay value when played with friends. Despite its strengths, Frontline Crisis does have certain limitations. The game’s overall scope is relatively modest compared to large-scale strategy titles, and some players may find the campaign somewhat brief once they become familiar with its mechanics. The simplified RTS systems that make the game accessible may also leave hardcore strategy enthusiasts wishing for deeper base management or more complex unit control options. However, these design choices appear intentional, as the game prioritizes immediacy and accessibility over complexity. Ultimately, Frontline Crisis succeeds by delivering a focused and energetic blend of strategy, tower defense, and action gameplay. Its streamlined mechanics make it easy to pick up while still offering enough tactical variety to remain engaging across multiple missions. The combination of base-building, real-time combat, and cooperative play creates a satisfying battlefield experience that rewards both strategic planning and quick reflexes. While it may not reach the scale or depth of traditional RTS giants, it offers a refreshing and approachable take on the genre that will appeal to players looking for a fast-paced tactical challenge.
I got this game in a cheap bundle, so I figured I'd give it a shot.
It's an interesting mix of Tower Defense, strategy, and puzzle mechanics. I can't really call it a good game or a bad one. The first few levels are easy and mostly there to teach you the basics, but after two or three hours the difficulty ramps up quite a bit. You'll actually need to understand the mechanics if you want to deal with the later waves and bosses. That's pretty much my biggest takeaway. I can see that the game has found its audience, but it never really clicked with me. I'm a fan of Tower Defense games, but this one throws so many different ideas together that it starts feeling a bit all over the place. The visual style is also very subjective. It didn't appeal to me, and neither did the gameplay. I never reached the point where I wanted to play "just one more level." I'd only recommend picking it up if it's heavily discounted and you already like what you've seen in the screenshots or videos. Otherwise, I'd probably pass.
Overall, this was another 50/50 experience for me. I don't think it deserves a negative review, but I can't honestly recommend it either.
very fun so far, but my friend was annoyed by the fact that he couldn't sit still as P2, and was forced to move constantly which was understandably grating after a while of gameplay. please allow player 2 to hover in place, that is all we ask. ty; great work overall on the game though, it's clearly an awesome project
Not for me.
I recommend this game if you like Sci-Fi and tower defence games. It might seem a bit dull at first but it's really tachtical and has some really cool mechanics. I enjoyed this game.

Clever little game; different than other tower defenses hope to see more from this dev
