The Golf Club 2™

Totally bizarre, mouse-swing-interface shenanigans! I was really in the mood for a good golf sim., and I really wanted to like this game, but sadly I only got as far as the tutorial. I spent so long on in the tutorial that I eventually gave up. Driving was if anything too easy - I could reproduce reliably consistent swings and shots. At this stage I was worried the game might be too easy, but, meh, I could live with it being a bit easy and see if I could make it harder later. But the next tutorial lesson was putting where I spent a good hour trying to sink - or even get close - a long distance putt. No matter what I did I would either under hit and watch it dribble away from me, or over hit and end up further beyond the hole than where it started. I played with sensitivity, I experimented with different speeds, but I could never get it close to the hole. I ended up wishing for an old fashioned two/three click interface just so I could play a round - but no such luck. Just this bizarre mouse swing interface that seems (maybe) to rely solely on distance and not speed or rhythm of swing(?) (shrug). So, maybe if you like playing with an x-box controller this might be worth buying. But not for me - putting is totally unplayable - therefore the game is totally unplayable.
