For the current price tag this was an okay kinetic visual novel. It’s very short so don’t expect some sort of “plot twist” or character development; there’s the adult patch on the discussion board which probably makes the game feel a bit longer too (considering the adult scenes). If you’re in the mood to read something simple and quick, you could give this VN a try.
Don’t expect much tho.
4/10.

Pros: Very few writing errors Nipples Cons: Generally unlikebale characters Only relatable character is never developed, exists solely as a prize for the MC Engine lacks expected VN options like text review and full screen view, but does have settings regarding nonexistant choices Japan as presented by someone who hasn't a clue (cherry blossoms and it's not the start of the school year?) Location visuals that conflict with the story (the sushi place is so clearly a ramen shop, it actually says ramen several times and there are noodle bowls all along the counter) Music that sounds like it's breaking up and doesn't properly loop Unlikely in-universe reasons for art mismatch Odd incoherence as to when events are happening relative to one another, particularly when two days clearly passed but references point to "yesterday" Disturbing thigh-gap The game has the feel of someone's first attempt at Ren'Py. Not much to like here, sadly.
Really short (~30 minutes), yuri visual novel. Tells the story of Hana, a young woman who is infatuated with another young woman she sees on the train riding home from school, and the ensuing relationship. Kinetic VN, without much character development (sort of hard to do in 30 minutes). The artwork is decent, if nothing really to write home about. One CG that gets reused, and little variety in sprites, though nicely drawn. The only negatives I can think of are: The music was really bad, at least in the scenes in Hana's apartment. It sounded like someone was banging on a guitar, while a vinal record repeatedly skipped in the background. I turned off the music after that, so the rest of the game might have been filled with earth shatteringly beautiful scores. I'll never know. Hana's love interest has what is becomming the norm as far as breasts. Meaning so huge that they are almost impossible to believe. Personally, I find normal sized breasts to be a whole lot more attractive in these games. Tone it down, artists. So, overall another review I might have given a neutral review if the option existed. I did like the underlying messages, and it was very inexpensive. So neutral+ I guess, and would recommend it to support a decent VN maker in any case. Thanks for reading the review.
This one is terrible :/ The writing is acutally so bad, I had to skip after a good half just to finish this game because I couldn't stand it anymore. A great deal of dialogue consists of "F*ck you!* Really? Do I need a VN for listening to such nonsense and bad language? It sounds like a teenager has written this, with the least possible effort. Even for the price it's asking, this is terrible. I can't recommend this to anyone, because there are a lot VNs on steam that are far better, for the same price or even for free.
This was a really short kinetic (no choices) VN, it takes about a half-hour to read. Hana cuts class to stay home and play games, and she has difficulty being bullied and beaten by another student in school. Hana develops a crush on a girl she sees on the train, and becomes determined to meet her. They do meet, there is a misunderstanding, eventually things get sorted out and all ends well. PROS The story was about love and acceptance, and it had a beautiful message. Achievement hunters will find 2 achievements here, which you should be able to get in under a minute if you hit "skip" and fast forward without reading. NEUTRAL There's an 18+ patch available on the dev's website, if you're so inclined. CONS It would be nice to see women drawn with more realistic sized chests. I thought the music could have been a bit more suited to the scenes, it didn't always reflect the mood of the scene. There were a few shortcomings but for the price, it was a cute read and I enjoyed it. Love Wins!

Despite the cheap price and yuri theme, I cannot recommend the Girl on the Train because it does not feel like a finished game. It took me 30 minutes to read through it (with the patch) and despite the option to "skip after choices" appearing in the options, the plot is linear. (Not that I have a problem with kinetic novels, just curious as to why this wasn't removed before release.) The characters were the primary turn-off for me, as they lacked personality and were reduced to bare boned cliches. The reader was repeatedly denied information about said characters that would have made the game more interesting, using shortcuts like "they talked for a long time" without actually saying what they talked about or having the "antagonist" initiate fights without any real reason. If you are only interested in the H-patch, it's decent, but not good. 3/10
