Having been enrolled into an all-girls school by his mother due to severe bullying for his feminine appearance, a 17-year-old boy spends the remainder of his high school life dressed as a girl to avoid being found out. He quickly becomes popular with many of the girls, much to his surprise.

On one hand, the art is cute. On the other hand, a lot of the routes are cringe-worthy;
from the MC dating and eventually marrying a cousin to getting engaged to someone who sexually assaulted him ... while he was underage
. I guess, if you're into the premise, this could be a fun way to spend an hour or two. Too many of the plot-threads squicked me out, though. Also, I found it interesting how the game went to pains to point out how the main character is NOT transgender, but he also clearly and repeatedly bucks gender norms and expectations. To that end,
if you want an ending where the MC decides to do more than just wear women's clothes you will be disappointed
. In short, this game was not my jam. I'm not here to shame anyone who likes it, but I would also recommend setting your expectations accordingly if you plan on making a purchase.
I had my highly conservative mom play this game. It made her cry and open her eyes. Even if this is a fictional game, I'd like to thank the creators of this for helping me. Love is love afterall.
My Life as a Maiden taught me how to love again. *GRAMMAR CORNER* When implying ownership on words ending with "s" you omit the additional "s" after the apostrophe. So rather than writing "the headmistress's daughter" you would instead write it as "the headmistress' daughter."
I loved My Life as a Maiden. It might not be for everyone, since you probably need to be a little more open minded to enjoy it, however if you do decide to just give it a shot you will be positively surprised. All the Relationships develop differently, but cute nevertheless. This VN also has a few very emotional Moments that didnt feel wrong or anyhting and I felt that the Developer did a really good Job at making a great Story even though there are quite a few tricky Subjects in this Game that could make it very unbelievable or bad. I dont want to spoil anything though so I wont say more about the Story other then that I really really liked it and the Writing made it perfect for me. The Art and Translation are also both very good. The only 2 things that could have made this Game better, would have been Voice Acting and slightly longer After Stories for a few of the Girls since some dont really have one. Overall however this is one VN that really tried to do some new things and also included emotional topics and not just cute Romance like many other VNs. Since the Game easily takes around 5 hours to complete completely I cant even complain about the Price. Score: 9.2/10 and a clear Recommendation Check out my Currator Page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34401214/ for more Reviews :)
It's an awesome visual novel with an interesting story, cool characters and wonderful art, recommended.
The artwork is of very excellent quality, and unlike many visual novels on Steam these days, the story is well-written. You know how sometimes there will be weird grammatical errors or little things that remind you that you are reading words that somebody typed onto a computer? No such issues with MLAAM! :) The price is really good too I'd say, at the time of this writing it is 20% off, but even at full price I think it would be worth it.
I play a lot of visual novels, perhaps not on steam, but I have played a lot, and most are usually just the same tropes that can't pass for more than mediocre games, but not this one, this was fantastic, one of my favourites already. The art style is gorgeous, each character is well written & unique, the story is brilliantly written & deep, and I absolutely love the main character, which is extremely rare. Maria speaks to me on a personal level, he's a character well written in this subject, something I never though a game would be able to deliver, I love Maria so much, and I thank you for that. I mean, I already have plans to cosplay Maria, that's how perfect he was. I don't know why but I prefer the Harley ending the most. I feel like I should like Erika's the most, perhaps Audrey's because of the reconscile, maybe Sylvia's because of her family backstory, or even Dawn because she's true to herself, but I just love Harley's ending and I think it's only because she keeps her cuddle buddy. I also love Audrey's father, "I approve", the man is into traps, and is a good father. Audrey's dad is up there for best girl.
First off, a severe content warning. The main character has a terrible bullying in their past, including a horrible scene of torture. While this is never graphically shown, it's still quite disturbing. I wish I could recommend this game. It starts out cute, and seems to be doing so many things right with a non-gender conforming character. There's a few slips here and there (I really don't 'like Harley) but everything seems to be building up to something fun and cool. So you'll forgive my surprise when the VN ended very suddenly, and right after the main character having a flashback to the time they were tortured. I figured that was the low spot and the game would move up from there. Instead, it just...ended. Perhaps I was expecting too much from this release, but it's still quite unfortunate to get a sudden gut punch and then a boot out the door to the credits.

I would say that it's a cute VN, just a bit too "slow" and having only 4 choices total. Harley's route made me uncomfortable while at the same time explained some rules everybody should know while there are so many people not caring about those at all.
