The Forgotten Void

Приключенческая головоломка + пошаговые сражения с монстрами. В очередной раз будем спасать мир от монстров, которые хотят выбраться через портал. Игра напоминает RPG наличием вещей, возможностью носить броню и оружие, торговать, обыскивать сундуки и покупать улучшения. Механика боев пошаговая, только в этой игре бои напоминают решение головоломок, а не обычные стратегические игры, где расходуем очки действия и заканчиваем ход. Чтобы убить монстров придется рассчитывать передвижения и хорошенько пошевелить мозгами, как в шахматах. При этом думать придется даже вне боя. Переходы по мостикам через локации закрыты. Придется решать небольшие головоломки с соединением блоков, чтобы открыть каждый проход. Интересная концепция и необычная механика. Любителям головоломок и инди в пиксельном стиле стоит попробовать поиграть в эту увлекательную игру.

The Forgotten Void is a 2D retro pixel (sigh) turn based combat game coupled with a somewhat mismatch puzzle minigame (a simple line drawing/pathing puzzle game that's been done a million times better in free mobile apps). Gameplay consists of fighting enemies in what looks promisingly like a Zalda game but disappointingly is nothing like one, and then running into equally disappointing mobile-app puzzle minigames needed to cross bridges etc. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. You don't have to take my word about how bad the game is, we can measure the interest in a game by how much people bothered to play it. The Forgotten Void has achievments, and they show us a very clear picture that the game absolutely failed to capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for solving the first 5 basic puzzles, and only around 6 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. That's a tiny, tiny proportion of gamers who even bothered with this. Ouch. The Forgotten Void has an almost insulting price of price of 8 bucks US, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
