About

Scavenge and fight for your next day alive under the shadow of gargantuan war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower over the battlefield. To put it another way:

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s Dynamic Encounter system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles — and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to.
Use your wits, stealth, and skilled gunplay to make it out alive. Choose your path in the shadow of the two great superpowers, loot the dead, and make it out alive. While the warring factions may ignore you at first, the more disruptive you become to their goals, the more they'll seek to remove you from the equation.
Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement brought us here: a dystopian world choked by 40 years of industrial-scale violence between two military superpowers, AI automata, cybernetically enhanced soldiers, human-machine hybrids, and relentless automated warfare. There's two sides to this war, and you're not on either.

Reviews
The game has a unique atmosphere. You can really feel the weight of the environment around you, and you also get the sense that the character you play isn’t invincible. The visuals, music and overall presentation are fantastic and really add to the experience. Overall, it’s a really enjoyable game. 8/10

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Great game, most of the bugs I saw people taking about seem to be gone, and the performance is only pretty bad when its loading a new map from my experience with friends
好游戏,好玩,就是玩法上还是很粗糙
TLDR, Forever Winter is a game that wants you to want it, and it is not very want-able. Forever Winter is a game that truly sells you from the moment you step into the game, that you are a small fish in the massive pond that is the eternal war. Unfortunately, that illusion is shattered when every action you take instantly draws the attention of every grunt in a 40 square mile radius. Its straight up not a bad thing, if that is what the game sold you on- being an extraction shooter where you try to tear thru enemies and claw your way to the deepest reaches, but it doesn't sell you that type of game. It SCAMS you x15,000 times into this lesser power fantasy where you get to see an unfolding world and only effect it in certain ways. Fundog would fix this game instantly if it just stopped marketing FW that way, but if they did that, all their fans would leave... instantly... PLEASE Fundog, just fulfill your fantasy in which you gave all the players who went all in on your fever dream. ITS REALLY NOT THAT HARD. AGAIN, ITS REALLY NOT THAT HARD. JUST MAKE IT SO GRUNTS DONT GET ABSOLOUTLY FRIED ON THE JOHN WHENEVER YOU EVEN STEP FOOT IN A FOURTEEN QUINTILLION FOOT RADIUS AND IT WOULD MAKE THE GAME SO MUCH BETTER. If you want to get this game, buy it on sale, its worth it just for the looks alone. And don't take it seriously, because the only way to take away anything positive from this game is to not take it seriously. Thank you.
One of the best pre-alpha's I have ever seen. Visually, the game is outstanding as well as the lore. It has very impressive environmental storytelling, and the atmosphere is constantly crushing you. Unfortunately, the game was released in an extremely underbaked state into early access from pressure of the community. It's still very unfinished, but for what they have it is absolutely worth checking out if it interests you. After a little under two years the game is definitely in a state that I can recommend it.
I like the art work of the game everything is very peeling to the eyes lol.
buggy as ♥♥♥♥ but its fun
I'm going to recommend the game for having a solid concept. I'm going to caution anyone purchasing this because the dev's priorities are currently on building out features, rather than going back and cleaning up bugs and performance issues. This game is held back by not having optimization. Held back hard. I can't play until they optimize, for instance, unless I want to sweat through a 30 minute match at 4 fps. Not sure what it takes to optimize the game for the nominal machine, but I guarantee that "mixed" review status goes to "positive" and beyond if the devs can carve time away to pare down processing costs. Until then, I'm a little sad because this game is just not playable for me.
