About

Scavenge and fight for your next day alive under the shadow of gargantuan war machines. Enemies in the game can literally tower over the battlefield. To put it another way:

The battlefield is unpredictable thanks to The Forever Winter’s Dynamic Encounter system: enemies have their own goals and agendas, operating in coordinated groups, undertaking full-scale battles — and they’ll intelligently react to your actions. The battlefield you leave won’t be the same one you return to.
Use your wits, stealth, and skilled gunplay to make it out alive. Choose your path in the shadow of the two great superpowers, loot the dead, and make it out alive. While the warring factions may ignore you at first, the more disruptive you become to their goals, the more they'll seek to remove you from the equation.
Ecological collapse compounded by runaway technological advancement brought us here: a world choked by 40 years of industrial-scale violence between two military superpowers, unmerciful mass killing by AI automata, human-machine hybrids, and the bleak truth of human nature. There’s two sides to this war, and you’re not on either.

The world is immersive, the art design is very well crafted, and the soundtrack sets the tone beautifully. HOWEVER, the gameplay and missing QOL features does needs some fixing but it hasn't stopped me from enjoying it. You can tell there was love and effort put into this game but it just needs more time to cook.
Война - это Бог
esta muy bugeado xD
While this new game is still working out some kinks here and there, it's showing a lot of promise as a stealthy solo or team extraction shooter. The world is unapologetically bleak, but the level design, gunplay and audio are excellent so far.
What makes this game bad is having to constantly traverse a map, then another map, then another map, then another map, then another map, and running into dead ends along the way constantly. It takes a run and makes it last forever, and you simply can not pause the game to get up and even walk away to use the restroom. You will spend an hour outwitting or outrunning enemies just to come across a drone that will spot you and melt you with weapons fire in seconds, or one cyborg that spots you that you have to kill that alerts everything on the entire map.... when you have a half mil worth of gear in your bag. You will lose everything. You can not possibly escape all these enemies and you will never have enough ammo to deal with them all. Game feels far more punishing than rewarding, and all I can say is I am glad I got it on sale cause I was looking forward to this one for a while and it just missed the mark completely. Also, just throwing this out there, the default character skins/designs look absolutely terrible. It's like some weird grim dark version of concord lmao. The extraction element/design of this game is what makes it feel awful, the water system feels awful, and losing all your gear with no insurance system is stupid as ♥♥♥♥. Having a compass with multiple markers that all look identical and no idea of which one leads home is absurd. Just make this game a more open ended squad shooter without the extraction element in the same world and dispose of the water system and you would have a hit honestly.
So the main question... is the game good? the short answer is yes and no. From a purely artistic eye candy the game looks amazing and very atmospheric. The sound scape is OK, not amazing but far from poor. The game has it's quirks and jank which is expected from an early release title but given that it's from a small team I think it's doing well in some respects. Where is falls down is the movement of the player. Getting stuck or caught on the world for no real reason is frustrating at times and something that should be worked on now instead of bringing out updates to enlarge the game. The guns work well but there's only a few that work really well. They can be upgraded but aside from Mag's they appear more cosmetic than anything. I came from Arc Raiders with over 600hrs in game and this is one of the few game I'll team up with a buddy and go play. If you're fed up of the cheats, rats and debate about if a game should be PVPVE / pure PVP or anything else then I'd recommend giving this a go.
