minor Spoilers: for a game that on the surface is a generic survival horror The Forest has remarkable depth. On a game design standpoint the horror is excellent, from those first steps out of the plane, to the very end, every moment is fairly tense, knowing that youre being watched, hunted, and could at any moment be attacked makes even the fairly peaceful aspects of this game, like base building and exploration a little more exciting. The cave diving/exploration segments are also well crafted, carrying a sense of claustrophobia and tension, having only a bic lighter as the main and sometimes brightest lighting option in pitch black environments creates and reinforces the horror, and makes each environment cohesive while also maintaining a sense of the unknown. You never really know what youre walking into or what youre going to find. The end segment/final cave is also well crafted, though admitidly long, it took me over an hour, and lacking in moments to save, which forces the player to keep going. Overall it was a good culmination to hours of preperation and exploration, using every movement tool and having plenty of enemies, without every becoming tiresome or boring. All leading to the lab, that is an almost jarring shift away from the natural landscape youve been surrounded by, to go from fighting cannibals in a dank dark cave to being in a well lit incredibly normal cafeteria/lobby is incredible. to turn the familair on its head. It also reminds me a lot of half-life and resident evil, taking cold sterile lab spaces, trashing them and throwing some monsters so you can never really get comfortable. Plus the additions of ancient/alien/cosmic horror like machinery is wild for a game that ive only ever been seen marketed as survival horror, and for some reason people dont seem to talk about. Then that final choice: you can choose to save your son, perpetuating a cycle of horror and violence, giving to others the same suffering you have just experienced, knowing your son will likely never be the same and could at any point be lost to you again. Or you can choose to end the cycle, non canonically of course, let your son go, accept that everything you've done, the rot you've eaten, the wounds you've suffered, the death you've witnessed, the lives you've taken meant nothing in the end. and return to the life you've found yourself in, building bases and fighting ever increasing numbers of cannibals. of course this game has its flaws, its a little on the older side, the graphics arent astonishing and it can be a little buggy with somewhat awkward movement. The map is truly terrible, it doesnt even cover the entire play area which i find odd, the fact its terrible and hand drawn is fine for realism but why not make it at least match a little better but i digress on that point. I also find that fire/drowing deal a disproportionate amount of damage, eating through armour and health so fast you might not even have time to do anything about it before youre dead, plus the rebreather, that allows for longer underwater time has to be manually refilled, so if you run out underwater you might just drown instantly because you cant open inventory underwater, leading to the choice of refilling early and wasting a canister or potentially dying. Though the air lasts a long time and canisters are fairly common so whatever. my only other complaint is that building takes forever, and doent even really stop cannibals from getting into your base, which could might be user error, but still single player i think most of my playtime was spent chopping down trees. Although to be fair, for those less inclined to play survival horror, because the survival part is not their thing, like 90% of the game is entirely accessible from the start, so you could technically just not do any of that, though some time will probably be spent gathering food and supplies, like movement tools and the keycard, unless youre like crazy i guess. And for those not into the combat/horror element you can also play with no cannibals, though i dont know if that removes all hostiles/monsters, and like caves are still dark and scary so to each their own. However you play i think The forset is worth the money, especially if you get it on sale.

Genial! La historia es divertida y entretenida. Solo que muy corta y una vez se completa eso, como que no hay más.
