I'm sorry but this is way to early for release don't even feel like a game.
i really wish steam allowed everyone to give a neutral review the game is really bare bones, basically a prototype. not all keys can be remapped (interact buttons for instance), the game really doesn't need 3 or 4 keys for interacting with items, objects or structures. logs can be pushed around with ease essentially removing the limitation of carrying 2 logs at a time. combat is... it simply exists, reach of both player and creatures is laughable, enemies are painfully easy to kite nights on the other hand are really nice visually, tree stumps and shrubs can sometimes look like silhouettes in the dark in it's current state it's too basic/bare bones to be worth any money, i understand if the dev put it on steam to fund it's development. but i really feel like it should be a free demo instead
This shows promise. Currently rough stage but that's Early Access. Glad we've got the chance to test it out and play. Graphics are amazing. Hope Matt keeps working on it. Could develop into a spectacular survival challenge. Figure $10 is cool and helps a new developer improve their craft to reach their creative potential.
So far I really like this game. It has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see where it goes!
TLDR; Buy this, but remember it's very early access and has a long way to go. I'm less than 2 hours in and enjoying this. Only died 2/3 times so far,all due to (I assume, since there is no notification) hunger/thirst. I do love this genre of game, and can see this one becoming really great in time. That said, I do have a few comments. [olist] [*]Please add a POV screen cursor - it's a pain to have to wiggle the mouse around without any reference until you can pick up something. [*]Warnings for Hunger/Thirst, or maybe shade the screen a little? I've been so engrossed in the game I've not noticed I'm starving to death :D [*]The rolling of logs and chasing down the hill is a frustrating! I get physics, but I've just chopped down a few trees in real life and it's not so bad! [*]Others have mentioned this, but the variety of keys needed for pick/drop/activate etc are excessive. Intuitively, left-click could work for picking up or activating (i.e. if you have a log in hand then click the saw-horse to activate). [/olist] This game shows great promise, and for a single developer it's really amazing. Bottom Line : I definitely recommend you buy it, but be aware it's at the very starting level of early access. Cant wait to see what it becomes! For the low price, it's a no-brainer to support a single developer as they progress in their craft.
its not a bad open world buiding game. it has a tutorial which you can follow or go on with out it. only thing i found frustrating was having to keep going into the invenvory to switch weapons or to use something. can do with some quick to use buttons ie the axe or sticks.
Needs a lot of work but if someone WORKS at it... it COULD be very good game!
This is at this stage a prototype or prof of concept rather than an actual game. i like the premise but if your expecting any actual game play be prepared for disappointment. i really hope they can pull this off and create a great game they defiantly have SOME building blocks to start with. but even at the low price of £7 i could only play it for 30 minutes and i was really trying. good luck to the dev's but seriously even an early assess game should have something about it that is functional and fun.
Really need a neutral ish recommendation. Super bare bones survival game. I get that it's early access, but so are a lot of other games and they're much more fleshed out than this. This feels like more of a demo game than early access. However, there doesn't really seem to be a plot to this currently, no reason pointing to why you're randomly in a forest. Maybe it's explained later and I didn't get to it. 3 hours in and there wasn't a single idea to a plot line or answers to any questions. I quit after I summoned something I guess I wasn't supposed to. I really was hoping I would get something that would be a plot piece and nope. Though, it looks like its very unending type game. There's not really an ending at all, which of course not with it not having a plot. If the developer keeps up with this and updates with some of the suggestions from multiple reviewers, maybe it'll be something great. Until then, this stays on a shelf off somewhere else.
