A clear case of a below average anomaly detection game. Probably made by an adequately inexperienced developer, which is fair, but with so many lazy elements, the entire game ends up feeling completely hollow. It's one of the anomaly games with the least amount of variation in anomalies period. And not only are the anomalies scarce, but also very stale in comparison to other games in the same price-range. In many similar titles, we get to experience lively, animated anomalies as well as occasional scares, something that we are not at all offered in The Eerie Surroundings, making the experience already inferior to many of its peers. The UI and the in-game overlay are built in an equally lazy style and are boring to engage with. The overlay in plain white text is presented in considerable contrast to all the in-game elements in-game, actually removing some of the attention from the screen while playing. For every map within the total of three, there will be a timer, and in order to progress and unlock the next map you'll need to complete your current stage within a set time shown in the in-game overlay. The timer is missing some basic functionality in the sense that it does not reset in case you fail a room and start over, requiring you to fully exit to the lobby every time you want to reset the timer. I don't understand why issues like these haven't been addressed or fixed. Walking speed is another point where the game shows total imbalance, given how small all the maps are, we really don't need this much amount of movement speed. It feels like we're holding shift down the entire time, even though there's no sprint feature, it's just the walking speed so fast that it feels like sprinting 24/7. It takes around 3.5 seconds to cross any map on its biggest axis. A way slower walking speed here is not only a missed opportunity for some better immersion, but it would also have removed some of the arcade feeling that the game is plagued by. SURPRISED HOTDOG LIMITED who's behind this title has a few titles quite similar to The Eerie Surroundings, and after trying this one, I'm not left as drawn to try out any of his prior work. Simply put, if we assume that any developer is evolving and improving their skill set along the way, then I'd rather look ahead for future titles than go back and likely witness projects that are even more unsatisfying. It seems that there's upcoming titles on the way from the developer, and I'm really hoping to see some improvements in those projects. Otherwise, partly based on all of the above mentioned points, I'll have an easy time deeming the developer as someone growing into a notorious asset flipping con artist rather than a creatively improving developer. Ho portato questo gioco in live e devo dire che sia io che la chat ci siamo divertiti , l'ultimo livello é stato duro da finire, l'atmosfera é molto bella. Lo consiglio da giocare con amici !!
Very short and sweet little horror game lurking within the vein of 'find the difference'. Solidly spoopy atmosphere with an enjoyable gameplay loop that is easy to get the hang of. Once I beat the final map, I was a little sad because I was having a lot of fun and didn't want it to end. Sadly, there isn't much point to keep playing once you've gotten all the achievements unless you're looking for something quick and 'eerie' (cwidt??) to kill a few minutes. <3 That being said, as much as I liked this game, I feel like $3.99 is just a tiny bit steep. I was afk for at more than half of the 'time-played' metric, so it probably took me a grand total of 30 minutes to complete this beauty. Even with achievements, there isn't enough to justify to price **in my opinion**. I feel like $1-2 would be more fair unless development is still active and new maps/achievements are coming. In that case it would 100% be worth the asking price. :) Check it out me hearties! If you dare :P
could have been more eerie
After gaining momentum with the previous game "Find Room 96" of the same dev, where you play in the hotel floors, now I managed to finish this one, also beat the time clock challenge. Awesome graphics & sounds, dark atmosphere! I recommend it!
THE VIBES 10/10
If you like these type of games then add it to your list. if you dont then pass on it nothing new here.
the atmosphere is so good , anomaly in a weird hospital what could possibly go wrong!
A very simple game where you look if something has changed. Disclaimer: This is a follow-up to the developer’s previous game. Except for the new stages, everything else is exactly the same and follows the same rules. That’s why I used the same review. This time, the game takes place in a creepy hospital. The goal is to start on level 0 and memorize the arrangement of all objects. Then you take the elevator to the following floor and check to see if anything has changed. If you believe something is missing, has been added, or has changed in size or appearance, use the "anomaly detected" elevator. You need to keep going to around floor 12. To make things easier, you can turn on a visual aid that draws a bright circle around potential anomalies on floor 0. Of course, the circles disappear once you start detecting on floor 1. Fortunately, anomalies don’t go into tiny details. It usually involves stuff on shelves, pieces of furniture or maybe some lamps. The game can be finished pretty quick because there are only three different rooms. You need to beat the time limit in order to unlock the next stage, but difficulty is easy.
