About
After the sun sets and the clock strikes midnight, your task begins: you must feed your master before the first light of dawn. How hard can it possibly be to survive the night?...
The Drain (Previously KAISA: Resurrection) is a challenging, strategic roguelite with a dark, culty vibe and a sound-based threat system.
Not all entities in the world care for your mission or existence...
Make too much noise at night and find out more about the crushing fist of the Shopkeeper.
What is death really? When you are in the service of an evil God, it's not without its perks! When you die horribly it's more of an opportunity to be reassembled with new exciting body parts you found on your previous attempt.
Death is not the end, just an opportunity for self-improvement!
During the daylight hours when you master sleeps, what you do is up to you. This is a race against the clock. Scavenge the house, acquire upgrades, and perhaps find a way to stretch your freedom from your demanding God.
Just make sure to be back before midnight.
Gameplay:
Night-Time, Feed your master in a difficult small arena battler setting.
Daytime, Scavenge, Prepare and explore.
Unlock new weapons, body parts and upgrades.
Set in a world heavily inspired by 90s campy horror.
Beware of the noise you make.
Not everything is as it seems.

Our Vision
The Drain is meant to be a hard, this is not a straight hack and slash, it's more of a delicate stab in the dark. It’s challenging, bloody, and unforgiving, but every victory is earned.

Reviews
The Drain is absolutely visually stunning, with a unique setting and an aesthetic to match. The fights can be challenging but are always engaging, with many mechanics to explore and make the game easier. The lying and exploration systems are satisfyingly unique. To top it all off, the game still has more in store planned for the future. The combination of limbs, weapons, and heads are simple but allow for greatly different playstyles from run to run, greatly increasing the replayability of the game. There are some downsides, though. Mechanical clarity is quite low, so you have to be paying a great deal of extra attention to notice things that may be extremely helpful to know. For example, the vending machine healing is extremely useful considering the mountains of money you can make with a high lying skill and some bird killing. There isn't really a clear reference as to the damage types and enemy resistances either, which further adds to the confusion. On top of that the visual clarity of some things is rather lacking. The coloration of limbs follows an ethereal logic only known by the artist, and inks suddenly stop working. The chopsticks can also just instantly kill you without so much as a visual because you bisect yourself with the laser. The freeze graphics are also quite unclear. The balancing is all over the place, which is understandable due to the game being early access, but it does still affect the experience. Gifts range from game breakingly strong to flat out useless. The weapons are all viable but there is a clear winner and loser (chopsticks and knife respectively). The heads are probably the best balanced part of the game currently, offering playstyle changes or m odest boosts rather than having a clearly superior option. Lastly, due to no fault of the developers, the community is somewhat nonexistent. Seriously people, START PLAYING THIS GAME!
Love the whole scenery and little monsters. This game has a soul and I can tell there is tons of thought given to so much detail and finesse. This is both true in graphic and in gaming sensation, as well as sound effects. It’s already worth buying if you ask me!
This game becomes so addictive when you notice all the various options you have which offers limitless ways to play, and I love the rewarding feeling you get from playing risky. The game is easy to play but really hard to master, packed with challenges. 10/10
Fun game
目前玩了20小时感觉还是不错的 创意非常的好 等待作者的沉淀与努力
I am very confused why this game doesn't have more reviews, it's great. The artwork, animations and sound design are fantastic and the gameplay is also reasonably addicting if you're into difficult roguelikes. Devs are great and seem to consistently update this EA project, so I can't wait to see what the future holds for this project.
不定形のうねうねした主人公のグラフィックが不気味ながら妙なかわいさがある。 何度も死んでやり直してるうち「お前も頑張ってるんやな…」みたいな愛着がわく。
0.2.0: Many problems fixed , some of them still. great changes happened , more destinations to go There is no doubt that《The Drain》was totally rebirthed from the ash of its Catastrophic 0.1.0 release . although it's content isn't pretty enough, but it still worth a recommendation. Creators didn't give their product up , their attitude worth a Recommendation , too. some of the problems still exist : the DAYTIME EXPLORE STAGE need to be SIGNIFIGANTLY EXPEND , such as more EVENTS to react , more NPCs to meet , more OBJECTS to repair or Interact , more BUFF to get , more way to change RESOURCES into IMMEDIATE COMBAT POWER or PERMANENT UNLOCKS (URGNT AND IMPORTANT) As a rougelite game , need more OUTGAME UPGRADE system to ENOUCRAGE PLAYERS REPLAY IT (here's a tip: maybe we can change BODY-PARTS from single-use to REUSABLE and INCRESE DIFFCULTY OF COLLECT THEM) (URGENT) Some problem of Difficulty curve:The FIRST FEW HOUR OF NEW PLAYERS is more difficult than it should be , things on ”old“ players will totally change to reverse side (Secondary) BUNCHES OF BALANCE CHANGES (some examples:basic knife is far more weaker than other weapons ;both armor and health buff on enemy are broken) (Secondary) WE NEED MORE CONTENT! ANYTHING PLAYABLE! MORE! MORE!! MORE TO PLAY!!! (Secondary but still important) LOCALIZATION:translate and propagate your product it in Specific language will increase it's Sales revenue at corresponding country. Although localization is just a Alternative option , it still worth to try after complete the product (Dude , we both knew there is a market which has a 1.5 billion Population named CN , do you guys surely wanna just abandon it?) (Secondary) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0.1.0: this game was surely an example of what will happen if the CREATER HAS NEITHER PLAY NOR TEST THEIR OWN GAME EVER (Before their first release) ,both numerical design and upgrade tree design was a DISASTER WHATEVER WHAT KIND OF GAME WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE , IT AT LEAST HAS TO BE A GAME , IF YOUR PROJECT IS TOTALLY UNPLAYABLE AND NONE OF YOUR MAMBER CLEVER ENOUGH TO FIX THE PROBLEM , THEN YOUR TRASH WILL BE THROWED INTO THE PLACE IT DESERVES
