About
CAN YOU SURVIVE THE DEVIL'S GAME?
In The Devil is in the Details, is an Anomaly detection -meets- Escape Room - meets Survival Horror hybrid, played from a first-person perspective. You find yourself trapped in a hellish mansion. Each step forward is a gamble in this ever-changing nightmare, where no two playthroughs are alike. Explore and investigate your surroundings and try to beat the devil at his own game, by placing talismans on cursed objects, while trying to survive with limited resources against the many deadly traps and foes that lurk in the shadows, as well as having to deal with the pranks demons and the devil throw at you.
Key Features:
4 distinct campaigns: Each one of the 4 trials features a large, sprawling and distinct mansion, each with unique trials to conquer, offering many hours of gameplay.
The Prank System™: Introduces randomized pranks, ensuring a fresh, unpredictable experience and keeping players on their toes. There's a lot of variety in these, ranging from sliding on the floor, reversed controls, and other unexpected modifiers that will provide a fun challenge for players.
Side quests: Each trial has 30 mini-arbiters hiding throughout the mansions waiting to be collected, as well as a secret side quest that will be hard to crack. These provide countless more hours of gameplay for completionists.
Randomized Cursed Objects: Every venture into the game offers a unique challenge, ensuring a fresh experience with each playthrough.
Time is your most precious resource: Time is your health. Explore the different mansions while keeping an eye on the time, and beware of enemies that will try to consume it. Use potions to increase time, just keep in mind they come in limited quantities.
Summon your inner Detective: Sharpen your observation skills as you observe and recall changes in your environment to progress.
Talisman Placement: Use mystical talismans to cleanse objects twisted by demonic influence.
Demonic Traps: Navigate, outwit, and disarm devilish traps that lurk around every corner.
Eerie Atmosphere: Immerse yourself in a chilling game against the forces of darkness, set against a backdrop of haunting visuals and sounds.
Survival: The demons will do whatever it takes to prevent you from finalizing the rituals, from physically assaulting you to engaging in mind games. You must use your wits and utilize your environment to trap or destroy the demons.
Limited Resources and Route Planning: Create the best plan of attack to avoid foes(or lead them to traps) while managing the limited environmental resources at your disposal as well as your time.
Customize your Experience: Completely customize the game to your needs and liking. If the game is too difficult, intense, or you just want to focus on doing side quests without the nerve-wrecking intensity of the default experience, you can individually turn off enemies, traps, jump scares or ghosts, thus providing everyone with lots of modifiers to really give you an unique experience fitted to your needs.
The Devil is in the Details offers a gripping blend of psychological horror and puzzle-solving, wrapped in a veil of mystery. Are you ready to challenge the devil in his own game?

I start playing it because i really love horror games. I get easily scared during games because of the jumpscare ! But it was really fun <3 The game is harder and harder but it's only fair : the more you keep going, the more there is challenging ! Thank you for the dev coming on my stream and mess up with me durring my gameplay ! It was fun and i hope to see you again when i will play other games of yours ! Will be glad to talk to you again ! See you on sainte_paresse on twitch !
A fantastic take on the walking Anomaly Horror, Exit 8 style gameplay. The addition of an overseer in the Arbiter, commenting and sassing you here and there helps break up the long bouts of quiet concentration, both to help and hinder you. Instead of the game just throwing more and more subtle anomalies (which are, to me, a poor way of doing difficulty in these kinds of games), it throws different mechanics and curveballs at you to try distracting you, making you forget the anomalies you are trying to spot and memorize. The addition of a good handful of accessibility settings, like turning off the timer or the jumpscares or similar, are a big bonus to me.
So I came into this game thinking it was going to be a walk in the park. Memory/puzzle games are so much fun and usually easy, but once the horror twist started to kick in....I became scare-roused! The jumps were great! The pranks that happens to make the game harder were good! The challenge is there and I like a challenge! Don't be reckless and use up your resources is a good plan. I need more games like this!
The Game is really good! It is a lot of fun I love the comments from the doll on certain objects it make the game really funny And it gives it its own charm :3 It's Fun, Challenging, sometimes Spooky and Frustrating at some points when u don't remember what item changed and many Monster Hunt you haha. but it's a really great gaming experience. I can only recommend trying it out for yourself!
What an overlooked title! I had so much fun playing this, its not your run of the mill spot the anomaly game though that is in the description but this has so many unique twists to make it fun, difficult and packed with solid jump scares. Includes good humor as well. i`m gonna go ahead and recommend this to anyone who wants a good horror and maybe something to tease your brain and have a laugh while youre at it. I`m just baffled this game hasn`t gotten more attention.
The Devil is in the Details, developed and published by HideWorks, is a cleverly twisted blend of memory-based puzzle design and psychological horror that turns a normally relaxed genre into something tense and unsettling. It takes the familiar idea of spotting differences or identifying anomalies and injects it with urgency, danger, and unpredictability, creating an experience that constantly keeps players on edge. What begins as a simple exercise in observation quickly evolves into a layered challenge where awareness, memory, and survival instincts all intersect. The gameplay is structured around a repeating loop that alternates between careful observation and high-pressure execution. In the initial phase, players are given time to explore an environment—often a dimly lit interior space—and study its layout, objects, and small details. Once this phase ends, subtle changes are introduced, and the player must identify what has been altered. This alone would be a straightforward puzzle concept, but the game complicates matters by introducing threats that actively interfere with your ability to think and react. You’re not simply comparing details—you’re doing so while navigating a space that can suddenly turn hostile. What elevates the experience is how it integrates survival elements into the puzzle structure. The environment is not static; it becomes increasingly dangerous as enemies appear, traps activate, and time pressure intensifies. These elements force players to divide their attention between remembering details and staying alive. Moments of calm observation give way to frantic movement, where hesitation can lead to failure. This constant shift in pacing creates a unique rhythm, blending methodical thinking with bursts of urgency that keep the gameplay from ever feeling passive. As the game progresses, it introduces additional layers of complexity. Environments become larger, the number of details to track increases, and the types of anomalies grow more varied. Some changes are obvious, while others are extremely subtle, requiring a sharp eye and a strong memory. At the same time, external factors—such as audio cues, visual distortions, or unexpected interruptions—add further pressure, making it harder to rely on simple observation alone. This escalation ensures that the challenge continues to evolve, though it can also become overwhelming for players who struggle to manage multiple elements at once. A notable strength of the game is its flexibility. It offers different modes and customizable settings that allow players to tailor the experience to their preferences. Those who want a more relaxed, puzzle-focused experience can reduce or remove the horror elements, while others can embrace the full intensity of the game’s mechanics. This adaptability helps broaden its appeal, making it accessible to a wider audience without compromising its core identity. Atmosphere plays a crucial role in how the game delivers its tension. The environments are designed to feel unsettling rather than overtly frightening, using lighting, sound, and subtle changes to create a sense of unease. The presence of an overseeing figure, combined with carefully implemented voice work, adds a layer of psychological pressure that reinforces the game’s tone. Sound design is particularly effective, using both ambient noise and sudden cues to heighten tension, though occasional inconsistencies can slightly disrupt immersion. Despite its originality, the game is not without flaws. Some of its mechanics, particularly those related to hazards and environmental threats, can feel more frustrating than engaging, occasionally interrupting the flow of the puzzle-solving. The combination of multiple systems can also make the experience feel cluttered, especially in later stages where the game demands constant attention on several fronts. Additionally, technical inconsistencies and uneven balancing can lead to moments where failure feels less like a result of player error and more like a consequence of the game’s design. Even with these issues, The Devil is in the Details stands out as a bold and creative take on a familiar concept. It successfully transforms a passive puzzle format into an active, high-stakes experience that challenges players in ways that are both mental and reflexive. The unpredictability of its mechanics and the variety of its encounters give it strong replay value, encouraging players to refine their approach and adapt to new situations. In the end, this is a game that thrives on its ambition. It may not always achieve perfect balance, but it offers a distinctive and memorable experience that sets it apart from more traditional puzzle or horror titles. For players willing to embrace its intensity and complexity, it provides a unique blend of tension and problem-solving that is difficult to find elsewhere. Rating: 8/10
Agréablement surpris par The Devil is in the Details !
