The Cross Horror Game

This game was janky as hell but I definitely enjoyed playing through it. Some of the translations are hilariously bad but overall it's worth a playthrough, although my game did bug out a couple times making me reload.

A buggy mess to say the least. Mouse glitches out on a regular basis where moving it to the left is impossible. If i go into another screen and go back out am suddenly stuck in a wall. Every room needs to load in like a game from the 1990's. Graphics are really bad like when pc games were just learning to go full 3D model. No way to figure out how to get to the save screen to save my progress. No way to get to the options menu unless my character dies. Options has no brightness setting so i could not even darken the game to make the horrible graphics slightly appealing. Clicking on items does not always get a response. Wall seams are all over the place where you can see openings in the ground like some badly done QUAKE map in a editor where the walls and floor are not properly aligned. Voice acting is horrendous along with animations. Sorry but this is a no buy and refund for me.

The Cross Horror Game is a disappointment of a horror, adventure game held back by some problems, but now let's talk about the story. A family is driving on a lone dark Road, but then they are forced off it by some sort of demon, only the father and the young daughter survive, but the daughter is soon kidnapped and it is up to the dad to get her back. So it’s that time to talk about the likes, well the atmosphere for the game was okay; it definitely had a nice spooky feeling. The graphics for the game was okay, I have seen it done better in other games that have used this type of graphics engine before, but this was okay. The enemy and boss designs were good especially the bosses my favorite happens to be that spider boss. The game also had some nice references to other works of horror like the Evil Dead which I found that pretty good. The puzzles in the game were actually pretty good and fair. So it’s that time to talk about the dislikes, the game has a lot of bugs and there are some that can be game breaking, but can be fixed by shutting off the game and turning it back on or by going into your inventory and getting off of it, but it really drags down the enjoyment of the game. There are notes in the game and as you know I'm a sucker for notes in video games as it helps build up the game's world and story, but in these notes there's just a lot of misspelling and some words missing that really sucks you out of the game’s story. The voice acting in the game was kind of bad and not in a good way; it felt a little too wooden. The story can be kind of confusing as it leaves you with a lot of questions. The price for the game is very high for such a broken game like this one. The game could also have used achievements even if they were just simple achievements like you killed this boss or you killed this many monsters that stuff, but sadly no. But what really hurts the game in my opinion is the fact that there's actually some semblance of a good idea, I feel like if the creator of the game basically spent more time with this game maybe even getting a demo out there as well as getting feedback and working out the bugs I'm pretty sure this would have been a cult classic, but as it is now it's a disappointment. So with that said The Cross Horror Game is a disappointment of a horror, adventure game held back by some problems, I honestly can't really recommend this game even if it's on sale, but I could only recommend this game if your an indie game maker yourself and you need examples on what not to do in making your own game.

先来说说优点吧，游戏的画面质感很有过去老游戏的味道，估计可能大部分的玩家不能接受，但是这款游戏的确勾起了我小时候玩半条命的回忆，虽然没有什么炫酷的场景，但是很能让玩家沉浸在场景里；游戏的解密设计和当年生化危机1的方式非常相似，甚至有的地方给我了一股子生化危机1那经典的大厅场景，让人回味无穷；游戏中还有一个非常好玩的机制，那就是你可以选择性撕掉书中的线索，这个小小的细节很好玩很有创意，在大多数游戏里一般捡到一本书就直接全部拿跑，跟抢劫的一样。 然后说说游戏中的缺陷，首先游戏确实有种比较复古的感觉，但是某些地方会又出现高强度明目张胆的穿模，甚至我能透过窗户看到整个地图的skybox；游戏中有武器，但是几乎没有任何的打击感，小刀是你能按鼠标多快，你的刀就能划多快，开了鼠标宏就可以开耍无影刀，与其这样的话不如做成潜行躲避特定的怪物；游戏的剧情非常的老套，是典型的召唤恶魔剧情，而且在看开场动画时我差点被那僵硬的动作和神奇的建模笑喷了；游戏在很多没有必要进行加载的场景进行加载，导致整个游戏的节奏被拖的过于缓慢，开门载入太多让人厌烦。 要我评分就是5/10，中规中矩的解密恐怖小游戏，解密的方式很有趣，画面拥有复古感，但是游戏穿模过于严重，并且存在小量的BUG，但是不影响进行游戏。
