This is the same game with Welcome to Hanwell with the difference of this not being open world. The game plays the levels in order whereas in the other game you would play them in the order you wanted. I guess the streets which you go through to get to the other levels is removed too. I think this is a good thing because I remember getting stuck in that game not knowing where to go or what to do. I get scared easily. Because of this I don't play these types of games often. There are some jumpscares. I think they aren't too often to the point they lose their effect. I remember getting many goosebumps while playing. In some levels you get a weapon, some you don't. The gameplay is finding keys or codes and using them to open doors and safes. Sometimes you fight things too. You have a flashlight. Another good thing is that you don't need batteries but if you use it all the time, it will go off and you need to wait for a bit to recharge. First main objective is to collect pieces of an ID card to enter the Council. This goes on for several levels until you enter the Council. I didn't understand the story all that much but frankly I don't really care. Sounds like the classic horror story. Crazy doctor's experiments gone wrong. It is told through notes and answering machines you find. The sound design and music are very nice. They amplify the horrific atmosphere. Graphically, in my opinion it looks very good. Not that there are many intricately designed assets in the game but anyway. I played with mouse and keyboard. I didn't like the movement in the game. Your character runs too slow. I guess at least there is no stamina system. The combat is very bad. With every swing your view swings too making you dizzy. Fortunately there isn't much of it in the game. Also, if you press Z, you can play in third person mode. There are also two types of collectibles. Witch Eyes and Doctor DNAs. Gettting all the eyes gives you a nice perk for the survival mode which is waves of enemies coming at you in a few different maps. There is the Escape mode which is basically Slender Eight Pages but you collect 10 Doctor DNAs instead and a bloody brute hunting you down instead. The Prototype mode is alpha version of Welcome to Hanwell. I looked at these briefly after finishing the game. I'm not sure what collecting the DNAs get you. I was 3 short at the end of the game and I didn't want to replay it for them. This game is ok if you wanna be scared for a few hours.

Ein recht gutes Horror Erlebnis. Man bekommt viele Schock Momente.
Baya iyi.
Total crap. There is no plot and it is so boring. I hope the third entry will be better. I cant even understand why this crap is made. This game is awful.
This game offers an acceptable horror experience with impressive graphics and effective jump scares. While the story is a bit nonsensical, the voice acting is decent, and the atmosphere is suitably eerie. However, the combat leaves much to be desired, with unclear hit detection and occasional frustrating deaths. A major drawback is the lack of a save feature; quitting mid-episode means starting over from the beginning. It’s worth picking up on sale.
It's better than the original 'Welcome to Hanwell.' (Not sure why my playtime says 4.2 hours, that is very inaccurate. I think I spent that much time on the last boss alone, he kinda sucks.) Hanwell is a Silent Hill-like, regardless of which version you get 'Welcome to...' or 'Council of...' it is the same story, I prefer this version because I felt exploration in the vanilla version was good but... kinda empty. This version gives you all the major story parts and is set up in a more linear experience but it is a noticeable improvement. Decided to revisit the story since Hanwell 2 was announced. I love the concept, and I adore a good indie horror. There is a lot of potential for the series, or for it to become a series, just as long as the Devs keep pushing. It's been a while since this game was released, but just as 'Council of...' was a noticeable improvement to 'Welcome to...,' I am pretty confident that all they learned will go into 'Hanwell 2.' I'm excited to see what happens, and recommend those interested in the storyline try 'this' version of the original game.
-Krátké a osekané. -Záměrné je hra zbavena průzkumů.
