Really good horror puzzler. I thoroughly enjoyed this. It builds up and maintains a real creepy atmosphere in a depressing dystopian world which I just absolutely loved. You make your way from memory to memory, accessing crime scenes, solving puzzles and trying to figure out what has happened. The story is markedly cryptic but it gives you just enough to keep you intrigued, and there's at least some amount of an effort to tie things off in a neat enough ending. Some of the puzzles did veer into pixel hunt territory, but nothing unforgiveable (especially as there is always youtube) and it must be said the English translation was definitely a bit ropey at times, though certainly not the worst I've seen in horror games on steam. Some mechanics, though they fitted thematically, I don't think they quite worked out mechanically given the genre. There's a cohesion/sanity meter which you must keep up to stay alive, and it slowly is eaten away over time as you exist in this putrid world. And while that was great at first as it really put the pressure on to move quickly, I found that after I died a few times it was very easy to speed your way back through a level hovering up all the cohesion-restoring potions whilst expending barely any. And after a while I ended up with a ridiculous amount of potions that I never needed to worry about taking my time. Having a limited number of potions that was reset in each memory likely would have worked better. Also I really didn't like the save mechanic. You could deploy an 'anchor' which saves your game but if you wanted to save again you had to go and pick it up and deploy it again. Again I think checkpointing would have made more sense. But with those nitpicks aside it's definitely a good game that just hasn't got the visibility it deserves. I loved the creepy doll design. And the game did a wonderful job of NOT bombarding me with jumpscares accompanied with the soundtrack screaming in my ear, as steam horror games tend to do. Instead the game just let the player engage with the setting and horrors naturally. And I definitely did jump more than once, like when I was busy rummaging round through the drawers of a room when I noticed I'm silently being watching by an unspeakable horror in the corner of the room. Chilling stuff, the game really does a great job of getting under your skin. And though there were bugs, the developer must be applauded for how they're still working away at this over 2 years post launch. I encountered a game breaking bug and the developer had it resolved and a new patch out straightaway. It clearly is a labor of love this game for the developer and I recommend you pick it up and support them and hopefully they're put out more quality games in the future.

The Corridor: On Behalf Of The Dead, developed and published by Desktop Daydreams Studios, is a first-person sci-fi horror adventure that immerses players in a tense and unsettling dystopian world. The game places players inside the mind of a suspected murderer, exploring fragmented memories and surreal environments to uncover the truth behind the crime. By blending exploration, puzzle-solving, and psychological horror, it creates a unique experience where narrative and gameplay are tightly interwoven, drawing players into a story that is as mysterious as it is unnerving. Gameplay in The Corridor emphasizes careful observation and strategic exploration. Players navigate dimly lit corridors and intricately designed rooms, each filled with environmental puzzles and hidden details that advance the narrative. The game uses lighting, sound, and visual distortion to create a constant sense of unease, making every step forward feel deliberate and tense. Subtle audio cues and environmental storytelling enhance immersion, rewarding players who pay attention to the smallest details while fostering a pervasive sense of suspense. A standout element of the game is the "Cohesion" mechanic, which functions as both a narrative and gameplay device. Cohesion represents the player’s mental stability and connection to the protagonist’s psyche, gradually depleting over time or due to certain actions. If it runs too low, players risk becoming “disconnected,” effectively failing and forcing a restart from the last save point. This mechanic introduces a layer of urgency, compelling players to balance careful exploration with efficient progress, heightening the tension that permeates the experience. The game’s save system further complements this design. Players can save their progress at designated "anchors," but each anchor enters a cooldown period after use, preventing repeated reliance on safe points. This system encourages strategic planning, as venturing too far without saving carries significant risk. Combined with the Cohesion mechanic, it ensures that every choice matters and that players remain fully engaged in managing both the environment and the protagonist’s mental state. Visually, The Corridor excels in creating an atmosphere of psychological horror. Its environments are meticulously crafted, with eerie, minimalist designs that reinforce feelings of isolation and dread. Shadows, flickering lights, and subtle visual distortions all contribute to a world that feels alive and unpredictable, while the first-person perspective heightens immersion and vulnerability. The art direction, though restrained, effectively conveys a sense of unease that persists throughout the game. While the game offers a compelling and immersive experience, it does present some challenges that may divide players. The Cohesion mechanic and anchor-based save system, while innovative, can be stressful, and some players may find the pressure detracts from the enjoyment of exploration. Additionally, the narrative is deliberately fragmented, and the ending leaves several questions unresolved, which may frustrate those seeking a more traditional story arc. The game’s relatively short length and occasional lack of clear direction also contribute to these mixed impressions. Overall, The Corridor: On Behalf Of The Dead is a thoughtfully crafted psychological horror adventure that successfully merges tension-filled exploration with innovative mechanics. Its haunting environments, intricate puzzles, and unique Cohesion system make it a standout title for fans of narrative-driven, atmospheric games. While it may not appeal to everyone due to its demanding mechanics and unconventional storytelling, it remains a striking and memorable experience in the indie horror genre, offering players a deeply immersive journey into a fractured mind. Rating: 6/10
It's a quite unique game with a lot of interesting ideas and a good athmosphere. At the point in time I'm writing this review the game is finished and even seems to have multiple endings, so no "to be continued"-screen or anything like that as mentioned in some older reviews. Besides the story, puzzles and especially the horror aspects being interesting (even tho not perfect), I did encounter some more or less game breaking bugs. A lot were not game breaking so I'm not gonna list all of them. The worst one was that the flashlight just disappeared when i put the batteries in and I couldn't figure out if there is a way I can use it so the dark parts were a huge struggle! Then in the last scene I bugged through the window and fell through the map (to be fair I provoked that but still only Alt F4 could save me). Another thing that led to me being stuck quite regularly is that there's a lot of searching for pixels, as in there's a lot of tiny objects you can't see very well but are crucial to getting further. Maybe changing the crosshair visibly when looking at an important item or something like that would be helpful. All in all i feel like it's a bit expensive for what it is, but it's definitely an overall good game with some flaws. So thanks for this interesting game Daydreams Studios. I hope there are more games to come :)
Game started good, ended up being silly puzzles. With the game bugging out too much.
The game's theme is very interesting. The terror that can lurk within the minds of disturbed people is both exhilarating and frightening. That feeling you get when you play The Corridor. Chilling mystery, challenging puzzles and attention to detail. Yes, if you don't pay attention to what the scenario is trying to show you, I guarantee you will be stuck for some time in the game's progression. In addition, the game features a "Cohesion" mechanic, which is how your mind is connected with the one being analyzed. If this "cohesion counter" reaches zero, you fail. This gives, together with the fact that the game is always in low-light lighting, a sense of urgency and the feeling that you could be attacked at any time. The Scy-Fi mood also contributes to the game's mood, after all the character is accessing memories and trying to find clues about some subjects. Immersion is great and the soundtrack contributes a lot to that. So, prepare your heart as many scares and plot twists await you in The Corridor: On Behalf of the Dead!!
The maker fixed the error, now if I can just get through the maze of monsters. I've made it about 30-40% through the game. THANKS
Really Good game with stunning graphics. Perfect to play when you are bored. Would recommend!

Honestly this game is too janky and badly designed to justify it's asking price. I was excited by the trailer, disappointed by the game.
Un film interactif totalement linéaire où vous apprécierez rester bloqué de longues minutes. Regardez plutôt un let's play pour constater l'aspect décevant du film.
