I don't want to give it a thumb down, but I still can't love it as much as I'd like to. Like other ppl said, its pretty shallow and there's still a lot to improve. Let me say I'm actually playing games like those by paradox or sports manager games like OOTP or FM21 so I'm used to complex games and I'm praying for a bunch of updates that give it much more in-depth. At least I'm hoping that the devs keep working hard on it because that game has potential and it's the one and only in this setting so far. Keep going guys. So I'd say give it a shot, get the game and support the devs, it's fun though.
You can tell a lot of thought went into this game. Needs more players! I've had a lot of fun so far.
There’s no such thing as good money or bad money. There’s just money! So control and manage your own DON and protect your family while growing with inside New Shore City. As a grand strategy, the game does a reasonable look at how things managed back in the 1920's. The quality of life improvements from the original make was greatly appreciated. The learning curve can be a bit stiff at first if you are unaware of the genre and its mechanics. The Commission 1920 has great potential of being something great inside the 4X market along side games like Stellaris or Crusader Kings. Only time will tell. I'd recommend this if you're a hardcore 4X player and need a change of pace. My key piece of feedback is to increase the tutorial to get a better on-boarding of your player base.
The Commission 1920 is truly a wonderful game. The independent workers at 302 put in so many hours and such aggressive effort in bringing to life for the player a moment that is captured in the imagination of lovers of history, organized crime, and the 1920's as well. Taking on a role of one of the 5 families (Calessi is the best) your goal is to grow your influence across the city. Carefully managing the whimsical desires of your Capos you navigate your own desire eventually capitalizing on the weaknesses of your enemies. Every game presents you with different struggles you will have to overcome. If the flavor of story lines is something you enjoy, several unique stories are presented to you. If the role of management is more your style, this game will not disappoint. You will learn what happened when and why the game is mapped out the way it is. Why certain people are in charge and why others should perish before you. You will not be on the ground entering stores. You will not be the one pulling the trigger. You will be the one who calls the shots while shots are being directed at your family. 302 thank you for such a wonderful game. I look forward to the many more projects you will put out in the future. Remember, if you ever come to vegas, go to the Mob Musuem.
Awesome game! The story line and overall game play are extremely well done. There is so much to do and learn. Whoever wrote and or produced this game really knows their stuff.
Too restrictive. Its a good improvement from the first one but if there is a meh 5/10 button, this game will be it lol. If you played the first game, it will take 5 mins tops to learn this one.
Good game, love the procedural mafia members and grand strategy is on a RISK type level. I originally gave a down vote because of a few game crashes, but outside of that, I've enjoyed this game in its early phases.
It's ok but it gets boring and repetitive quickly. You don't really feel any connection to what is going on and your crew feels a bit bland. It's also not always massively clear what you're meant to be doing so you're just clicking things randomly. Things like taking over territory, moving into other crews areas etc has no depth to it at all and you never really feel like you're making risky moves you just put people places and wait a bit.
Cool little strategy game with a fairly unique theme, 1920's organized crime in the US. Fans of this and fans of strategy games with board game like concepts could really dig this a lot. I've been enjoying this so far.
Extremely dull.
