I do energy system modeling for a living and have been very excited about this game/following it for a while. I was also very worried I'd be disappointed in it. I am not at all! This is a wonderful little game, especially for only $5. Perfect amount of complexity to make it require thought and planning, but also the right balance between difficult/achievable. The variety in resources is great (add geothermal!) and the game runs very well for me on a non-gaming laptop. Trying to balance between renewables and more steady generators is great. If you're someone who enjoys resource management games, you will probably enjoy this!
The game is polished, the mechanics work and you get enough gameplay for the price, especially if you are into sandboxes. There is a decent strategy game here balancing limited initial funds and different energy generation types. The campaign is limited, more like an extended tutorial without hand holding. I would like to see levels where you start out with a partially set up grid that you have to get into working order, or levels where there are restrictions on what/how many/how often you can build and/or upgrade. The sandbox while offering different sizes and random starting layouts doesn't have much replayability. I wish once you purchased the repair building that you could automate more than just turning buildings back on after repair has completed. At the moment having to turn off buildings for repair gets too micromanagy with many buildings. I would like the ability to set solar panels to automatically repair at dawn/dusk and other buildings to repair once they dipped below a certain percentage of my choosing at a time of day of my choosing. This could be an upgrade for the repair building, or an additional building. Once I get many buildings I would like to be focusing on what to build and upgrade.
I played the game on kongregate and could not wait for the full release! If you are into management games, this will scratch a perticular itch and while you are at it you learn a thing or two about power grids! Thanks for making this, hope you get more attention!
Highly recommend this game for anyone with no knowledge of the energy industry, as renewables grow in importance. Good cheap game, someone with industry knowledge would get 5+ hours solidly. I've worked on the financial side of several energy projects. Finished campaign in around 4 hours, played a bit with sandbox. Pros: The energy mixes and peaks are well modeled, strategic options between renewables and non-renewables are realistic. I like the administrative building to modify demand curves, highly relatable. Level of complexity is undergraduate 101 course level, fun and nontechnical. Graphics are fine. Areas for improvements: Biggest qualm: Better maintenance automation! Your facilities avg 75% uptime. Your ability/willingness to micro (on/off depending on demand) determines how much excess capacity you need to build out, to a much greater degree than any strategic choice. And when you get to 15+ sources, like the final map of the campaign, it becomes a chore. Maintenance needs to have conditional automation, otherwise the lategame is not fun. If you leave your renewables to your technicians, your peak capacity may need to be 4x peak demand. It's 2024, everyone knows my diesel genset does not need to be running at full chat at 2am. Campaign map has limited diversity with power needs, but in the end it's still about building more capacity while being balanced. Resource / regulation diversity is fertile soil. Generally don't like to comment on balance, but wind power is OP (if willing to micro), so limits other strategic options. The financials UI are barebones, and only show system-level profit/loss. You will have to run your own cost per kWh calculations. Weather characteristics between maps are unclear. The campaign map to close down coal seems extremely windy.
Casual fun, pretty realistic sim of power generation, transmission and consumption patterns. *Edit: Oddly for a game about energy generation, there is no nuclear power plants, geothermal power plants or gas fired power plants. Wish the developer would add more to this fun game.

quelques crash/bugs
pas de nucléaire ?
peu de 'Quality Of Life" après l'early game, certaines taches devraient pouvoir s'automatiser
Campaign is short and boring, the whole gameplay is lacking anything that would make it fun. I love this genre, but sadly this boring to death. DO NOT BUY.
I had some fun, for me it was worth the money. Don't expect too much content, just some fun for one or two evenings.
More of the game I enjoyed as a browser game a few years ago, under the name Electric City Manager. Which is also a good place to start to see if you'd enjoy this kind of game. I find it highly enjoyable, although this iteration is rather short, as was the original. This isn't inherently a bad thing, I just wish there was more of it because it is so much fun! I do find a few things negative with it though, some things are not explained very well and there are some typos here and there. As well as the aforementioned shortness of the game. But at the current 4.99 EUR that I paid for it, it gave me a couple of hours of tinkering and I have since replayed it several times just to mess around. Definitely a better cost/fun ratio than many other things. Cheaper than going to the cinema and I definitely paid more to see terrible movies in the past. I'd love to see more scenarios and maps!
Very nice and plays very causally.
