Hidden object games are difficult because the hidden objects are tiny!

The Clockwork Man is a hidden object/light adventure game. I've purchased it because i was thinking that it has a steampunk theme, but not exactly. The hidden object scenes are reasonable. At some points you will need the hints. Personally I don't like to use the hint button but I gave it a lots of tries during my gameplay because some objects were well hidden and it wasn't so easy to distinguish them from the background. In some scenes ther are more than 1 samples of some hidden objects and you need to click the correct one. The puzzles are simple. If you are a regular HOG player, wou can easily beat them. The story is not so good. Some scenes are meaningless. My final decision is a negative, but if I had a "meh" button, it'd be "meh". 4/10

Une histoire pas très captivante, des personnages auxquels on peine à s'intéresser, une héroïne qui passe son temps à ranger des chambres sous n'imprte quel prétexte, des énigmes sans beaucoup d'intérêt non plus, une technique dépassée. Vraiment, pas grand-chose à retenir de ce jeu à la durée de vie très courte. Si ce n'est la possibilité d'explorer des scènes d'objets cachés en se déplaçant (latéralement ou d'arrière en avant) mais qui est techniquement pas très bien maîtrisée. Le jeu a une suite. Honnêtement, ça vaut pas plus de 1 ou 2 euros/CHF mais le plus simple est de ne pas s'y attarder.

The story is intreaging and all, but the screen is small and I can hardly decipher anything from my usual distance from the screen. Like another HO game I have to stick my face to the screen to be able to see clearly. It's very tiring. I got irritated many times playing it. I wouldn't really recommend it.

I wasn't a fan of this game. I didn't finish it. There isn't really a story. People just tell you to look for things for them. Then you do. While I don't personally find this to be an issue, the objects are dated and I could see where some younger audiences wouldn't have a clue what the objects should look like. They can be very difficult to find at times. The hint system doesn't always work and takes too long to recharge. The variations in puzzles is a plus though. Some have zoom in areas, others have horizontal scroll, which both mix things up a bit. The audio volume is too low compared to the music volume by default, but there were settings for these to fix it. The game seems to be going for a steampunk feel but it didn't seem as prelevnt as I would have preferred. Bottom line: With all the hidden object game options out there, this one just isn't necessary.

Excellent if a little short, but well worth it if you like hidden object games and puzzles. I found the characters enchanting and was pleased to progress to the sequal (which I was not disappointed by).

Does not work on Windows 10.

this is a short game just to find objects, my daughter and i enjoyed it :)
