The Catacombs of Solaris Revisited is an unconventional exploration game that embraces the idea of interactive art over traditional gameplay. Instead of guiding players through combat, puzzle-solving, or narrative-driven objectives, it presents a deceptively simple challenge: wander through an endless maze of impossible architecture and discover the room that resonates with you the most. This minimalist premise becomes the foundation for an experience built around curiosity, visual perception, and imagination. Every step through its surreal corridors reveals spaces that appear to bend logic, encouraging players to slow down and appreciate the artistry behind each environment rather than chase conventional progression. What makes the game particularly memorable is its masterful use of optical illusions and impossible geometry. Rooms constantly reshape the player's understanding of space, creating structures that appear to violate the normal rules of perspective. Hallways connect in unexpected ways, corners conceal surprising visual tricks, and familiar architectural forms gradually transform into dreamlike constructions that challenge how players interpret three-dimensional environments. Rather than overwhelming players with mechanics, the game rewards observation and experimentation, allowing every discovery to feel personal and unique. This revisited edition builds upon the original release by introducing refined visual effects, making the already surreal environments feel even more striking. The upgraded presentation gives greater depth to the impossible architecture while maintaining a clean, minimalist aesthetic that keeps attention focused on the constantly shifting spaces. Every chamber has its own identity, and despite the procedural generation that drives the endless labyrinth, the environments rarely feel repetitive. Instead, each new location invites players to pause, examine their surroundings, and appreciate the clever manipulation of perspective. One of the edition's most creative additions is its support for importing custom images into the game. This feature expands the artistic possibilities, allowing players to personalize the surreal environments with their own visuals. Combined with the built-in screenshot system, the game encourages experimentation and creativity beyond simple exploration. Many players may find themselves spending as much time framing unusual screenshots as they do navigating the labyrinth, since nearly every room offers an opportunity to capture an image that resembles digital artwork more than a conventional game scene. The complete absence of music and environmental sound is another defining characteristic. While silence may initially seem unusual, it ultimately strengthens the game's meditative atmosphere. Without audio cues directing attention or influencing emotion, players become fully immersed in the visual experience. The lack of distractions encourages careful observation, making each illusion and architectural impossibility more impactful. This design decision reinforces the game's identity as a contemplative journey rather than an action-oriented adventure. Because of its unconventional design philosophy, The Catacombs of Solaris Revisited will not appeal to everyone. Players searching for a compelling story, challenging gameplay systems, or clearly defined objectives may find the experience too abstract. The game intentionally avoids traditional rewards, instead encouraging players to create their own purpose through exploration and personal interpretation. Those who appreciate experimental games, digital art, and visual design are far more likely to connect with its unique vision than players seeking fast-paced entertainment. The game's accessible controls, lightweight technical requirements, and uninterrupted exploration ensure that nothing distracts from its central concept. Every design element serves the goal of immersing players in a world where perception constantly shifts and certainty is replaced by curiosity. Rather than measuring success through achievements or progression, it invites players to reflect on how they experience virtual spaces and challenges them to find beauty within an endless maze of impossible architecture. Overall, The Catacombs of Solaris Revisited succeeds as a bold artistic statement that confidently rejects genre conventions in favor of pure exploration and visual experimentation. Its remarkable use of impossible geometry, procedural environments, customizable visuals, and minimalist presentation combine to create an experience unlike most titles available on Steam. Although its highly experimental nature limits its mainstream appeal, players with an appreciation for interactive art, surreal environments, and thought-provoking design will discover a fascinating journey that lingers long after the exploration ends. what the ♥♥♥♥??????

It's fine, basically a quick tech demo. It's nearly exactly the same thing as the itch.io version, so I only recommend it if you get it for a good deal; definitely not worth its full price. Good for a little bit of fun with some music in the background.
My neurospicy brain loves this. No objectives or goals, just walk and explore the trippiest place you'll ever see. They have a bunch of "mutators" as the game calls them so you can add lights and color-changing effects. You can also create catacombs with your own images.
More of an art piece than a game, but totally worth it regardless.
非常好游戏,使我大脑旋转😋
