About
“The Book of Hiro” is a 3D visual puzzle game developed by two independent developers. Players help Hero embark on an adventure to the palace, using illusions and perspective to solve puzzles and explore the magical world in this book.
The game features innovative visual puzzles that are imaginative and visually stunning. The innovative visual illusion finding gameplay involves moving the viewing angle, clicking, and other operations to find the hidden “key” pattern in the picture. Each puzzle solved can advance the plot and provide a unique gaming experience and visual impact.
The game features a simple and fresh 3D low-poly style that is full of childlike innocence while meticulously depicting the different scenes in the story. The game’s soothing and distant music complements the graphics to create a mysterious visual pop-up book.
The game features shiny gold coins, ordinary keys, hammers, gears, and other objects that are common but difficult to find due to the game’s unusual mechanics. Players must make bold guesses and not be fooled by seemingly unrelated images. They must carefully observe and remember that what they see is not necessarily what they get!
The game features an energetic and art-inspired storybook style. Behind the seemingly ordinary protagonist’s travel story is a hidden plot and an extraordinary experience. The game includes a main storyline and hidden endings waiting for you to explore.

Short game but well worth the price.
Good game

I love this game and the hidden ending. Love to heading to the next "Book"
The Book Of Hiro is a puzzle game, in which each chapter consists of a small but detailed 3D diorama. To progress to the next chapter, a scroll containing a 2D sketch must be found and placed on the matching part of the scene (after changing the viewpoint to align shapes, markings etc - this can be very challenging, even in the small scenes). The matching 3D object is then created e.g. a cog, key, hammer etc, which in turn can be used to reveal further scrolls, or finally to open the route to the next chapter. There are achievements for completing each chapter and for obtaining the default ending. The story has a voiced narration and is also shown in displayed text; the narration is always in Chinese (which I thought was a nice, almost musical, accompaniment to the story, even though I do not speak that language). A hint is given by the story-teller if the player seems to be stuck, and there is also a "?" button which will show the correct alignment for matching the sketch on a scroll (though the player still needs to place the scroll). There are also arrows for moving backwards or forwards to any chapter previously unlocked; these are not needed for the default ending
but are crucial for the alternative ending and its associated achievements.
I originally played the Prologue for this game almost two years ago, and I struggled with the mechanics so I did not purchase the full game until now. This time I found that I better appreciated the care and complexity of the full game's design
(including the back and forth between chapters to pursue the alternative ending),
and felt more comfortable with the mechanics - the alignment of the viewpoint can be tricky but the game does allow & automatically corrects a certain tolerance of error. All in all I am very glad that I played the full game; it was both challenging and entertaining, and very good value for money.
