About
"You are the player, and must chase the Boogie Man.
If you catch him, you win! And that's the happy ending.
If you don't catch him, you lose, and what awful bad ending may await you then?"
This is the third title in the Strange Man series, developed by Uri Games.
After Keith takes his wife, Helena, with him on a mandatory holiday at a castle, Helena makes a startling confession.
You play as Keith, a cold detective, sent on a work vacation by his boss. After arriving at the castle him and his wife take a tour of, the Boogie Man appears, and in his wake, murders appear.
As Keith is obsessed with protecting people after his son’s death, he chases after the Boogie Man, in hopes to end the murders and the frightful night of “entertainment”.

There's a man in the closet.
Okay, so I have a lot of thoughts on this game. First of all, the actual journey/gameplay. What a frustrating experience it could be! I can't tell if it was because I was in a bad mood after playing The Sandman and being disappointed but a lot of the puzzles went over my head, and since the puzzles are kinda crucial to saving everyone I had to do them. But as annoying as it was, I won't let that fully color my experience; besides, I technically can't even call any of them bad, it's more likely a me problem Second, the story by itself. The story by itself is...good. I like the voice acting, cheesy as it is. And I like the story, cheesy/melodramatic as it is; the presentation of the story feels like an anime episode, similarly to The Crooked Man, which I really like. I think it's told well for what it is, and outside of the bad ending I got feeling kinda abrupt (
I guess after David died, Keith couldn't get over the loss of his son fully which led to that ending? I dunno, I think it could've been explained better, but it's fiiiiiine
) I think it's overall a good story. I was hooked the entire time, I liked/was interested in all the characters, and I think that's at least some mark of quality. But as a sequel to the Sandman and Crooked Man...what the hell happened? This is not at all what I want from this series, not in the slightest. Not once did I ever think to myself "gee! this sure would be great if it turned into SAW randomly!", like what the hell? For was lesser as Sandman was compared to Crooked Man (the best), at least it retained the psychological horror elements that made CM so interesting and personal. This is just...way off the rails. Like it's hard to take seriously anymore. The Boogie Man is just diet jigsaw, and everything we learn about Keith just comes from his own mouth, and that just feels wholly less interesting. I dunno, I just miss how personal The Crooked Man was. Like everything connected back to David's story, while here Keith's story feels like a subplot to a main plot; a main plot that is incredibly cheesy and hard to take seriously, even, which I think rolls back into my issue with it when thinking about it in context with the sequels. Ultimately though I guess I'd recommend it. Like, I can disconnect it from the rest of the series and have quite a good time, even if progression irritated me. And it's cheap, so if you're at all interested in anything that I've said I'd recommend it.
7/10
I got two bad endings and still don't know who the boogie man is. Some tough puzzles, walk through was needed. Nice cross reference to the crooked man, which i have played, both games were quite different, I was worried they would be very similar, Im yet to play but have bought the handed man and the sand man. No chase scenes, which can sometimes be refereshing. Decent story, but I'll need to go on youtube to see the true ending and see if I can see who the boogie man is. Keith the main character isn't very likable, this may be on purpose though. The story is decent, something about this game felt a bit lacking, but for the price I paid i can't complain much, so maybe grab this game on a sale. The game did also glitch for me multiple times in the arrow room scene, but I did get around it finally, my character wouldnt move, and then I ended up in the black part of the screen completely out of the room, no idea how that happened, but as I said, eventually got there.

I didn't like this game lot and the voice acting from the beginning, but it turned out to be okay and maybe even good by the end. Comparing to the previous game, I found more fancy in this one, it can be thrilling and sometimes interesting, with some curious twists at times. Although, solving puzzles didn't deliver me pleasure at all, it was absolute hell. These puzzles can't compare to the ones from previous games, and I would just advise you get a guide and solve 'em that way. All in all, could say it's a nice game if you don't take the only flaw into account.
