About

14th-century Europe. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. It's a moment of weakness - and that's all they needed. Vampires seize their opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they've been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it. Other creatures of the night follow their lead. Legends turn into reality, and history as we know it will never be the same.
You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night. Fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family. Whatever your choice, the question stands: is your soul worth the lives of those you love?

Experience and shape the plot the way you want. Embark on the quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy everyone standing in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in head first or risk taking time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances.

Experience two different gameplay loops, offering distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.

Every action - and inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and every time you take on a quest, time moves forward, compelling you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.

Defy gravity, become a brutal force of nature, and use your supernatural skills as a vampire. Or raise your sword, and employ powerful magic to take on opponents as a human. Experiment and adapt as your form changes during the day and night; each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Venture through the hand-crafted open world and discover all it has to offer. Roam through the lush forests, the vast plains, the treacherous swamps, the steep mountaintops, and the medieval settlements. Explore forgotten ruins, find remnants of an ancient civilization, and uncover truths that should probably remain hidden.

Experience the beginning of a brand-new saga built with love for the role-playing genre. Immerse yourself in a visually stunning world powered by the next-gen Unreal Engine 5.

I have been playing for 5 hours and so far it is giving me the same emotions as playing the first witcher in 2007, but without all the bugs - and it is a very high bar! Hands down the best game I have played in years. Gameplay, story, graphics, acting, all is AAA. Furthermore, there are some interesting innovations such as the time mechanic that forces you choose the kind of dawnwalker you want to be, and discourages endless grinding. The only (very small) criticism is that it maybe looks a bit too much like the witcher, but it was/is a very good game, so I can live with it.
Great story, some performance issues but not enough to detract from the gameplay and story. Still worth the price tag as is, and I'd imagine the performance issues will smooth out with patches over the coming months.

This game makes it hard for me to make a recommend/not recommend kind of review. Overall I enjoyed some if not most of it, but it can be recommended for you if you like Witcher 3 or general RPG genre AND have nothing worthy to play at the moment... OR you're an Assassin's Creed fan. ALL THE REST OF YOU GUYS - wait for a 50% discount at least (and don't thank me later) PROS: -Overall setting and background - it's dark and unforgiving enough, and at times looks even better than, say, the Witcher's one. -Characters and some NPCs - well designed, some are well written. -"Time System" - A good thing by design, I liked the general idea, but the rest of the gameplay features make it redundant and unnecessary -Combat system - It was surprisingly good - it only got boring in the 3rd "act" of the game (roughly after 60% completion) which is waaaaay later than I expected. - You CAN win the game in prologue, which is always good! CONS: - Story has basically 2 endings: good one, and bad one. It doesn't really matter what you do - you kill the main villain and that's it. The difference is does the main character's family survive or not. And some extras in the same ending cutscenes will say something/stay alive. - Story structure. Now, this is the most important: If you think that this game is Witcher's clone - sorry, but no. This is Assassin's Creed clone. Most missions (70% or so) are repetitive, completely uninteresting (after the first time you finish one) fillers... And there local variations on the topic of towers and outposts. Good thing that the game heavily incentifies you NOT to do these activities due to timer. - Story feels like the developers had a bigger game in mind with more variety and more interesting, but stopped (or were stopped) due to budget constraints. - Progression in the game is crap. There are no particular builds (you just don't need them). The game is way more AC than Witcher. Main feature of the combat gameplay is parrying. As you get 0 cheap damage if you parry - you builds and skills don't matter much if you score those parries - Enemies feel like bullet (or rather "sword slashes") sponges. Maybe that's because there are about 7 types of enemies, apart from bosses, in the whole game (boars, wolves, bears, various unarmed zombies, spirits, two-weapon wielding humanoid, and two types of one-hand weapon wielders). Thus you memorize all the attack patterns in first 5-10 hours of the game.
Super
Are the Story good ?:The Story is very captivating and its hard to close the game down because you want to see whats next. Does the game force you to skip quests and exploration because of the time gate?: yes If you run into 9 mobs at the same time, is it only 2 that attacks you ? Yes. Are there bugs in the game ? yes ive been stuck in random ♥♥♥♥ all across the map. Can you Jump while in combat ? No, which i find very anoying if you are close to rocks or tents you cant jump over them or pass a small rock. Is the abilities cool and you feel progression ? Yes. Is the game optimized? No. The grapphics are worse than witcher 3 sometimes. Worth 70 euros ? I finished the game after 50 hours So its more than 1 euro pr hour. and i felt rushed. I hated that. Yes i can play it again. But i will still feel rushed doing it. Over all 7/10 game.
I've enjoyed this so far I've mostly done alot of exploration and some main story with few side quests. If you like witcher 3 i would recommend this for sure, The combat is somewhat challenging and takes times to get used to. story thus far is good and the books and notes you can read gives some good story and lore to the world. I do hope they change or "fix" the movement it's sort of clungy or robotic and not as smooth or responsive as it should be. Make sure to read all the skills in the different trees so you can get a better build sooner or wear medium armor without penatly lol I hope they add some sort of stealth mechanics in later specific for vampire mode or day time. it feels a little off being able to get vantage points or walk up walls to only use dive attacks. Ive havent branched out or used the whole tress yet or gear so maybe i just havent gotten to these yet. only lvl 20. would really appreaciate an compare button for gear stats. combat could be a little more polish with camera and blindside attacks but it's solid. was worried the combat would be too difficult or annoying, i've enjoyed it can't say its for everyone. I do like the way you can encounter strong enemies and the game doesnt hold your hand you either are good enough to beat them with combat understanding and timing or you are geared to deal with the enemies I never feel cheated or that it is unfair. { spoiler }got a legendary sword early durandal from the wraith monster and that was only deaths i had thus far since i died in 3 hits. i hope the gear is random like witcher and not static i enjoy games that give multiple playthrough potential and the more differences the better. eager for an exspanison or where they take it from here.
Great game
Likely my GOTY for 2026, I DO NOT care about GTA 6. Now having said that, this game has loads of technical issues and bugs, but I have forgiven them -- simply because of the outstanding writing and quests, very reminiscent of the Witcher 3. Currently this is a 9.5/10 for me (looking forward to the sequels) but just for this review, I am scaling it down to a 8/10. Once they patch some bugs, and optimize the game, I will give it my original score. Great first game for the studio though.
👍
The game has a few issues at release but I enjoyed the game. The combat mechanics grew on me but the camera and softlock could be better. Took me about 40 hours to complete the game and still had 15 days left. The time limit was strange at the beginning but with enough planning you can do most of the things you want to complete or look interesting.
