I agree with some points stated in the negative reviews, but it's still worth grabbing this on sale. Story: * More cutscenes, but this also makes the barebones epilogue feel weird, since it barely shows the fate of the world and the characters in the ending. * Some choices continue to have a major impact on the story and also lead to really varied endings. Even though I played on easy difficulty (without save-scumming or using a walkthrough), I was unable to
save Arberrang, with probably only 2-3 days left to save even a few remaining people
. Although, I somehow managed to
get the ending deemed to be the best one
. Gameplay: * The kill requirement to level up characters still exists. But there is a minor improvement, all characters now have a minimum level of 8. * Just like TBS2, you can choose to continue a battle or stop/retreat. However, unlike TBS2, it doesn't impact the story and give one extra item instead. The TBS trilogy has some issues, but this is a game you should play at least once if you're looking for a game where your choices matters a lot. It's not easy to find a game with ambiguous morality that doesn't automatically reward good deeds.
Don't buy this, the game constantly crashes. I've had to replay battles countless times just to finish the story. It's a shame, because I really liked the other aspects of the game. However, I can't recommend it due to these technical problems. It seems like the devs won't be fixing this.
A truly a saga! Good turn-based RPG, with an engaging gameplay, memorable characters and an engaging story. Story and characters change based on your decisions - reminiscent of Fire Emblem-style games. Strong recommend if you like turn-based RPG's. Similar to Ash of Gods, if you liked that, you'll probably like this. All three of it.
a beatiful game a work of art reminscent of bone. i remember not being able to buy it on ios as a kid. all these years and it lived up to expectations. the conclusion to a well realized and mature story. made me sad seing the saga end, wish there was more. game crashes a lot tho
Sempre viva il capitalism… no, scherzo.
Very good story and characters. A good sense of "choices matter." Good music. The combat isn't for me. It's counter-intuitive, where defeating weaker enemies first just gives their stronger units more turns, since no matter how many units each side has it alternates turns (until down to the last enemy unit). I'd recommend anyone interested in this game for its story elements (which are the main attraction imo) to play it on easy difficulty. Overall a solid 8.5/10
