Intriguing story, good puzzles that weren't too easy or too frustrating. The only issue I had was with some important items getting stuck (like a big container) My only gripe was the ending. Too clichey and tropey. Kinda offensive even in 2023
Very well made, fun, and challenging game which developers continue to improve and update over a year after initial release. If one is a fan of escape room style puzzles, this is up there with the best in VR currently
Either the newest update of the game or updating to Windows 11 finally allowed me to play the game I bought about a year ago. If you experienced hands glued to the ground in the game, maybe this helps you, too, and maybe you want to buy it again if you refunded it for that reason - because the game is actually really good and for me worth the wait. Great atmosphere, a captivating mystery to resolve and puzzles that are not too easy but also don't get you stuck for hours on end, all accompanied by a perfectly matching sound track. Some minor nuisances with the controls and handling (not as smooth as some other similar games, seated position is too higher, standing position too low - means it's not a hundred percent comfortable to play), I would totally recommend the game. It gets a bit creepy towards the end, but there are no jump scares - so nothing to worry about if this isn't your thing. Took me about two and a half hours to complete, I don't think a first playthrough is possible in much less than one and half unless you're some sort of puzzle game prodigy. The puzzles may seem a bit artificial at first, that actually makes sense in the story of the game.
I didn't like this game. It is not intriguing enough except for what is shown in the video trailers and I got bored easily. Secondly, its performance is surprisingly not good for my Rtx3070. I am surprised because there is nothing much here, not much details, not any extraordinary graphics quality. Additionally, the general vr interactions, especially the interactions with the objects and puzzles, are not very good. I am talking about the first ten minutes, though. Maybe, I could ignore these flaws if I liked the beginning. I think It needs something to compensate for its flaws and boring gameplay. When I take into account that interacting with things is the base gameplay for these kinds of games and how often I am going to be faced with these rough mechanics, I easily lose my desire. Because, from the trailer videos, my expectations were shaped to a game like Abode series, plus more depth and variety. The visual style is very similar to each other, except that Abode series were more fluent even though there was more stuff around. Actually, my general idea is that it is often typical for VR games to have some glitches here and there. Because there are not already many perfect VR games. However, there should be something else that makes up for the flaws. I think this game needs a good beginning to captivate players more. It needs a hook in the beginning to adjust expectations with what is shown in the video trailers. It could have been, for example, some sequence of introductory playable events blended with some cutscenes, to constitute that thing, a so-called "Mystery".
Overall, I enjoyed the game. The graphics are okay, puzzles are nice and the atmosphere is great, sometimes a bit spooky. There were a few hiccups for me, not bugs, just things that confused me. I got help quickly from the developers in the Steam forum. There are a few things that could be improved, but compared with other escape room style games in VR, this is one of the better ones. Although pretty short. About 2 hours for me and I'm usually on the slower side. There's a short tutorial in the beginning, explaining the controls and there's teleport and smooth movement options, plus crouching by pressing a button.
A very good puzzle game in a VR community that needs more of these. One of the best parts about VR is being fully immersed in a different world / time or place and Atlas definitely did that for me. I would definitely recommend this to other VR enthusiasts and people who love escape rooms and puzzle games. Other players have said this but the puzzles are hard but not SO hard that you give up. I still have a ways to go but I'm really liking what I've seen so far. Being able to walk through the entire theater is definitely a plus. The game has a good story that works in tandem with the puzzles. Hopefully the dev creates more puzzles and rooms and is able to expand The Atlas Mystery further.
Fun puzzle escape room game. I've only played a few puzzle games on Quest and this one definitely ranks up there with the better ones. The design of the theater was really cool and the music was amazing. I would say medium difficulty for the puzzles- some were familiar and some were very original. Never felt stuck though, all the clues you need to solve them are there. I played with Quest 2 airlink and didn't have any controller issues or weird hand physics. An enjoyable and immersive experience for sure.
A fun puzzle game! I love escape rooms, both in real life and VR, and this definitely is scratching the puzzle-solving itch. The theater was very creepy and atmospheric, and the puzzles were on theme and different from the usual escape room stuff. They were just complicated enough that I really had to think, but I never got frustrated or had to look up a hint. I'm kind of a wimp, but fortunately there were no jump scares or anything like that, just a creepy feeling throughout. I enjoyed reading all the documents and finding out all about the mystery and murder, and the history behind the theater and who my character was supposed to be. My only complaint would be that I wish there was more! It's about the same length as most of the puzzle games I've played on my Quest though, so I understand that this is pretty typical, but if they add more content to the game I will definitely be back for that. If you like games like Red Matter, The Room VR, or Moss, you should enjoy this!
Vraiment intéressant, puzzles différents et accessibles. Beau décor.
If you enjoy VR games and mysteries, this is a great game to check out! It's not too long but packs in plenty of puzzles to figure out and make you feel oh so successful when you get through them. The atmosphere is surprisingly creepy and it got plenty of squeals out of me! I particularly liked the system that allows you to jump forward instead of slowly walking everywhere, that helped a lot. Also if you are sensitive to motion sickness, turn off the smooth view in the beginning. It made a huge difference.
