Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

i review games on steam after i 100% complete them! check out my reviews to see all the games i have completed! the apotheosis project is a point & click adventure, and it definitely plays like one. it can be a little janky with the controls like most P&C games, but it can actually be pretty fun if you go in knowing it's more of a cheesy 80s sci fi movie rather than a high-budget enthralling encompassing story. i definitely didn't go in with the right level of expectations but once i readjusted, i was able to get through the game pretty easily. it's good for what it is. the story is pretty basic and uninteresting but ultimately it is worth sticking through the game for. however, depending on your patience for things that are really bad, the voice acting can be very off putting due to just how bad it truly is. i kind of weirdly started enjoying it after a while and luckily you can turn it off, but keep in mind it is horrifyingly bad. the voice actors are unmotivated and weirdly unnatural, as if it was intended to be bad. the graphics also could be better as it sometimes can make solving puzzles with items in the background hard to spot. overall, this is a decent, if underwhelming and underutilized point & click adventure game with a meh story and terrible voice acting that is almost enjoyable due to how bad it is. if you were ever paying more than a dollar for this then i'd feel bad, but this is only ninety-nine cents at full price so you won't ever have to worry about that (it used to be $3.99 on release, then full price was lowered by a dollar every couple years after). i bought this for less than fifty cents on sale and i can honestly say i don't regret it.

The Apotheosis Project, developed by Midian Design and published by Screen 7, is a traditional point-and-click adventure that embraces the design sensibilities of classic titles while attempting to tell a science fiction story rooted in conspiracy and human experimentation. It carries a clear sense of ambition, particularly in its narrative setup and dual-protagonist structure, but that ambition is often tempered by uneven execution and a lack of modern refinement. The story follows Penelope Barker and Aaron Reid, operatives working for a powerful organization whose motives become increasingly suspect as events unfold. What begins as a standard mission quickly develops into something more unsettling, as both characters find themselves entangled in a larger conspiracy involving genetic experimentation and the possibility of transcending human limitations. The premise is compelling and offers plenty of room for intrigue, but the storytelling struggles to maintain cohesion. Key developments can feel abrupt, and the narrative occasionally relies on exposition rather than allowing events to unfold naturally, which can make it difficult to fully engage with the plot. Gameplay adheres closely to the conventions of classic point-and-click adventures. Players explore environments, collect items, and solve puzzles by interacting with objects and combining inventory items. A notable feature is the ability to switch between the two protagonists, each with their own inventory and perspective. This system has the potential to add depth and variety to puzzle design, encouraging players to think about how the characters can work together. However, in practice, it is not utilized as extensively as it could be. While there are moments where switching is necessary, the mechanic rarely evolves into something that significantly enhances the overall experience. The puzzles themselves reflect the game’s old-school inspiration, for better and for worse. Some challenges are satisfying and logical, rewarding careful observation and experimentation. Others, however, can feel obscure or unintuitive, requiring trial-and-error rather than clear reasoning. The lack of a hint system exacerbates this issue, as players who become stuck have little guidance to help them progress. This design choice may appeal to those who enjoy the uncompromising nature of older adventure games, but it can also lead to frustration, particularly for players accustomed to more modern conveniences. Visually, the game presents a simple 2D style that is functional but not particularly striking. Environments are often dark and somewhat indistinct, which can make it difficult to identify interactive elements. Character animations and cutscenes convey the necessary information, but they lack the polish and detail that might elevate the presentation. The overall aesthetic supports the game’s tone but does little to make it stand out within the genre. The audio design is similarly mixed. The inclusion of full voice acting is an ambitious choice, and while it adds a layer of immersion, the quality varies. Some performances feel natural and engaging, while others are less convincing, which can disrupt the flow of the narrative. The soundtrack, on the other hand, does a better job of maintaining atmosphere, providing a consistent backdrop that complements the game’s science fiction themes. One of the more interesting aspects of The Apotheosis Project is its tonal balance. It attempts to blend serious, high-stakes themes with lighter moments of character interaction. While this can add personality, it also contributes to the game’s uneven feel. The transitions between tones are not always smooth, which can make the experience feel disjointed at times. Despite its shortcomings, the game has a certain appeal, particularly for players who appreciate the structure and challenge of classic point-and-click adventures. Its commitment to traditional mechanics gives it a distinct identity, and its narrative ideas, while not fully realized, are intriguing enough to carry the experience forward. There is a sense that the game is reaching for something larger, even if it doesn’t always succeed in achieving it. Ultimately, The Apotheosis Project is a nostalgic but imperfect adventure that will resonate most with fans of older titles in the genre. It offers a mix of engaging concepts and frustrating design choices, resulting in an experience that is both interesting and uneven. For players willing to embrace its old-school approach, it can be a worthwhile journey, though one that requires patience and a tolerance for its rough edges. Rating: 6/10

The Apotheosis Project is an immersive and thought-provoking adventure game that had me engaged from start to finish. While the art style and graphics may look outdated, the game still manages to create an immersive world that draws you in. The game's storyline is unique and kept me invested in the characters and their journey. The puzzles are challenging and require a good amount of critical thinking to solve. Overall, The Apotheosis Project is a great game for anyone who enjoys adventure games with a sci-fi twist, despite its outdated visuals.
