You have crash-landed on a lethal, radiation-soaked planet, and you are running out of time. A scorching sun that burns everything in its path is coming your way. Your only hope of survival is a massive mobile base too complex for one person to operate. You are forced to make a decision no human has ever faced: creating a crew of alternative versions of yourself.
But your solution may just become your biggest problem.
You crashed. You are entirely alone. The sun is a death sentence, and your mobile base must keep moving to outrun it. With no rescue coming, you must find a way to operate it, or you’ll die.
When the planet itself is your enemy, every second spent standing still brings you closer to ash.
To survive, you must move. To move, you need help. Forced to use the base’s advanced quantum technology and the planet’s unique resources, you must create The Alters: alternative versions of yourself. Brought to life by a supercomputer that turned your alternative life choices into reality, they are your only hope. They bring the specific expertise and capable hands you drastically lack, but they also bring their own human baggage.
A crew of ‘yourselves’ is a psychological nightmare. Every Alter arrives with distinct personalities, memories, and regrets. You aren't just managing resources. You are also a relationship manager to yourself, mediating conflicts and confronting your past choices lightyears from home.
As tensions rise, your Alters will clash over how to handle the mission. Keep them sane and keep them together, or your own egos will destroy your only chance of seeing Earth again.
Your rolling base is your lifeline, your factory, and your home. Customize and upgrade it to accommodate your growing crew. Research cutting-edge technologies, manage crucial life-support gear, and manufacture what you need to survive. Turn your base into a self-sustaining powerhouse capable of keeping both your crew fed and your systems humming.
You cannot hide inside the hull forever. To fuel your base and progress your research, you must step out onto the hostile planet's surface. Venture out into unpredictable anomalies and heavy radiation to mine essential resources.
But watch the clock, as every expedition is a high-stakes gamble against the oncoming burning sunrise.

One of the most fun games ive played in a while. Highly recommend it. I thought it'd end up being just a simple resource management and base building game. I am so thrilled to have been proven wrong!

This game is amazing. Very original and interesting. It blends character driven storytelling with unique character motivations as well as making you feel like your choices matter throughout the game. There is a wonderful focus on the suspense of the looming threat of the sun and the pressure mounts realistically so that your decisions feel even more impactful. The game mechanics are very fun and strategy driven while not being overly complicated.
Even though The Alters appealed to me from the start, I was a bit skeptical about whether I would feel like managing even more daily routine on top of my own everyday life. And yes, now and then there are petty everyday squabbles between the Alters. Still, the game was outstanding for me. The barren, hostile setting, the time pressure, and the dilemmas arising from sheer survival completely captivated me. Exploration, resource gathering, and expanding the base were thrilling and struck a great balance in terms of challenge. You can certainly play through the story very creatively and push many things to their limits. For me, though, the game was especially immersive because I tried to make decisions as if I were truly in that situation myself. A big thank you to 11 Bit for this kind of game that challenges you both intellectually and morally! The music was also 100% spot-on and impressively enhanced the experience.

This is a casual game for people who wants brief experience you get from Death Stranding/Satisfactory elements and very calm action portion and a little bit exploration. The main strengh here is the phylosophical element of idendity and quantum energy/vacuum topic. If you like all three elements without much getting stressed out of gameplay stress, this is for you. Ive played it for 91hours and Im a grown man with different interests. If you demand a andrenaline kick and reaction stress stimulation , this will kinda bore you with too much science talk. Its also funny at times . The characters are entertaining too with just one Voice Actor voicing 8 people . I really enjoyed the ride and the topic too. The DLC was at times even better than the main game in depths of gameplay mechanics and more unique companions and some others ...."its a dlc" -wake up moments . Can fully recommend it for that price . 9/10 -1 because at time I felt too lonely but I had that with Death Stranding world exploration too.
