The Adventures of Jason and the Argonauts

If I could give this game simply a neutral rating I would. It is pretty average when it comes to match 3 games, but it suffers from frequent enough crashes that it gets annoying (about once an hour on average I would say), but luckily you will never lose more than one level of progress. Includes levels with 3 different match 3 types, but it is mostly your classic match 3. On top of that also has some random puzzle levels throw in there (hidden object, memory, mosaics,...). Works fine with Proton (the crashes are unrelated to it).

The Adventures of Jason and the Argonauts strives to stand out from all the other typical match-3 games within the genre by providing a nice variety of game modes, a small build-a-city aspect, and some mini-games, and by retelling an Ancient Greek epic that is as timeless as it is legendary... and I'd say it did a really great job! [b]Pros:[/b] + Many different match-3 game modes from chain linking (click and drag to link up all the same pieces) to block-busting (click on groups of 3 or more pieces of the same type to remove them). You'll get to enjoy a new game mode every few normal match-3 levels or so. + Challenging but not really unique obstacles. Ultimately, I think the toughest part is clearing gold/silver tiles in harder to reach places. + Fun and not too difficult mini-games, such as having you re-piece Jason's ship, jigsaw puzzle-style. A nice respite from matching stuff together. + Timed levels available and the time given is more than enough to comfortably complete a level without feeling rushed, but if you still want something more relaxing, there's a "no time limit", easy difficulty level that you can play instead. + A beloved, classic story. Would have liked some animation or better graphics but I guess it's still pretty good :) + Power-ups - The standard variety, including the explosive ones, the ones that can clear entire rows, and etc. There are two types though - the first type can be earned by making better and longer matches; the second can be earned by filling up the respective power-up meter with special one-click-to-collect (no matching required) tokens. [b]Meh...[/b] * Not sure what the fog is doing in the playing area. Seems redundant because it didn't do much to obfuscate my view of the pieces underneath it. It does make the map looks a little bit more interesting though. [b]Cons:[/b] - The build-a-city part of the game seems "extra" - doesn't really tie in with the story. This is the first time I play a game like this on Steam, a Match 3 game, and I like it a lot. Games like this are very good for in between other, more intensive games. Just to relax a little bit. The storyline is nice. You immerge into a world of Greek Gods or heroes and you have to find an artifact. Everything you do during the game, takes you a little bit further in your search for that artifact. The further you go the more Olympus Gods you can ask for a favor. I didn't finish the game yet, but I am pretty far advanced already. Still I'm not bored by it. Each time I think of stopping playing (stopping the game session), I start another level. Once you start playing it gets to you and makes it a very addictive game. A big shoutout to the devs who gave me the possibility of playing this wonderful game.

Lots of fake/paid reviews for this shovelware match-3 mobile game. Drag different ancient Greek themed tiles to form lines of 3 or more until each level's objective tiles have been cleared. There's no more to it than that. You can play match-3 games in web browsers or on mobile for free, so there's no reason to pay the comical price of $7.50 for this copycat Bejewelled ripoff.
