Information / Review English
Tesserarii falls into the rogue-like strategy genre, developed by Dylan Van Beek.
Gameplay / Story
Do you like dice games? Then you should take a close look at Tesserarii, as this game is different from other dice games. You could say it's Dark Souls in the style of a dice game. You need high numbers to advance as the winner and thus receive large rewards. We have to make decisions that will determine the outcome. For example, we have to decide whether to face a boss or hope to advance on a lucky streak and put everything on one card. The dice rolls randomly, so we have to hope that luck is on our side. If we're on a losing streak, we can help ourselves with various power-ups that balance out the bad luck and allow us to complete the level. However, we shouldn't push our luck too far. Pros + Successful combination of strategy and roguelike elements + In-game luck + Numerous power-ups + Unlockable characters + Various enemies + Reasonable price/performance ratio
Cons
- Few customization options
Conclusion
Tesserarii offers a successful combination of strategy with roguelike elements, providing you with not just a game but a host of options. You can find more great reviews from others and myself here. If you liked this review, we'd appreciate a thumbs up.

Information / Review Deutsch
I picked up Tesserarii and accidentally played for six hours straight—it's addicting. Each run feels fresh with unique power-ups, build variety, and endless ways to push for higher scores. Experimenting, strategizing, and even trying to break the game has been a blast. The creativity, replayability, and sheer potential makes it an easy recommendation. At this price, it’s a steal. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this deserves it.
This is great, once you've invested the energy to work out what's going on. With a bit of work on some QOL changes this could be a world beater, it's just a teeny bit opaque for the new entrant. Stick with it, it's well worth the admission price.

This is Tesserarii on the PC, a brand new game from an Indie Developer in 2025. Although I got this for free to play and I think this is a great game, if I could have paid for this at such a low price point, I would have done. If you like roguelike games, dice games, dungeons and power-up abilities this game is for you. Think a version of Yahtzee that is super fun to play and a time-sink. I loved this game and this video is my first play of it and I am pleased to say the game is a time-sink and it felt like I was only playing a few minutes. Would highly recommend if you like roguelike type games. https://youtu.be/GhogiDKQr3k
I really want to like this game. It's a roguelite Yahtzee battler. Sign me up! But it just seems so broken and unfinished. The Tutorial jumps right in with some fox guy who doesn't introduce himself explaining the rules. Seems fairly straightforward: you roll dice, try and get pairs, 3 of a kind etc. and deal damage to the enemies. (Not Full house or 5 of a kind though because you only seem to have 4 dice, but they're on the scoreboard anyway making you feel like something is broken. Maybe they're an unlock?) Anyway, the fox guy is gone now and a totally new character with a die for a head shows up without introduction and finishes the tutorial. And then the run continues. It plays okay at first, seems like higher dice rolls give more score and the level of that die on the scoreboard acts as a multiplier. There is a "Bonus" figure which isn't really explained, but that kept going up after every round. The bigger it gets, the longer it spends in this weird build-up animation whereby it grows in size (the text expands, not the number increasing), while the sound of somebody tapping a coffee mug in your ear gets louder and higher pitched. And then...it adds it to your score, and then gets multiplied by ....something? The global multiplier maybe? Mine was 2 but the final score seemed to be 3 or 4 times as big so I don't know. The game does a poor job of showing you what it's doing in terms of the calculation. Other games might show the "x2" multiplier flying out from whatever caused it over to the score so you can clearly see that's what caused that multiplier. Anyway, that's the number that gets deducted from the enemy's health. By round 12 my "Bonus" was 71, higher than anything I could naturally roll, so rolling seemed inconsequential and I'd still be one-shotting the occasional foe. I quit after level 12 because that bonus animation is just so grating and long. You can buy upgrades to your dice for the price of some negative effect, like your max health, or the level of your dice/combos. A nice idea, only a lot of the time it would tell me I couldn't afford them despite clearly having enough of what it was asking. "Bonus" for example, as mentioned was really high, but apparently spending 4 of it was too pricey. You could also buy 4+ "Bonus" upgrades, which given that I had 71 for free made me think that maybe it wasn't supposed to be that high. Make sure you remember what the card tells you a die effect does, because there is no way that I could find to check your dice after you've bought it. It will show a visual effect, but it won't tell you what that effect actually does if you hover or select the die. Some effects also claimed to stack or pair with other effects, but there's only one visual effect per die, and you can't pick which die to upgrade so you can't exactly build out a deck to your tastes. And there were random physics bugs with the dice as well. Dice would just start floating off or sliding around the table, even after they were locked in and being counted for scoring. Not really relevant to the gameplay, but kind of shoddy. One die got stuck on a corner after being rolled so I couldn't tell if it was a 6 or a 3. Even after I locked it in place, right through to scoring it was stuck at a janky angle. Other weird stuff like music tracks playing over the top of each other for way too long (tracks in completely different keys and tempos, yuck), health not restoring or "wrapping round" it seemed, I still don't know what happened there. The game feels like a really early alpha build or a game jam project that ran out of time. The tabletop setting, little figures, shiny cards, they were all nicely done and it could be a really nice game with a chill vibe if it's ever finished. It's been a year since release so unlikely to ever be fixed, but I hope someone can run with this concept because it is a solid idea.
