You'll watch some FMVs about this guy who is sad about his wife who doesn't put out anymore and how her sexy caretaker makes him upset/horny. Then John Hurt appears to ask you if you touch your penis in your spare time.
TLC is an underrated 90s FMV game. While interactivity and gameplay is pretty limited, answering the various tests and questions to effect the story is genuinely fun. Tender Loving Care is an orphan of the brief mid 90s trend of the "Interactive Movie" that everyone swore was going to be the future of entertainment. The result is a moviegame about a man with a Tim Buckley character haircut going insane because his live in nurse is too sexy and his wife might be gay. A genuinely pretty compelling Basic Instinct knockoff that pauses every 10 minutes so that John Hurt can walk on a really awful greenscreen and ask if you have problems with your bowels or if wearing dresses makes men gay. The extremely dated 90s attitudes towards alternative lifestyles and distrust of psychiatry simply read as very silly and funny now. I laughed out loud a lot playing this. Its not really "good" but it certainly is unforgettable.
Графика в игре 1998 года поражает воображение, от реальности почти не отличить, особенно при vhs фильтре
A repressed bisexual couple hires a horny live-in nurse to cure their dead-kid trauma. It doesn't go well. John Hurt just kinda watches from a distance in a Cameron Mitchell-esqu desk-cameo. If you love terrible b-movie dramas, you will love this movie. It really is more of a movie with inter-stitched Rorschach tests that give you different takes of the same scenes and the multiple endings are more or less variations on the same three endings plus the "true" ending based on the original book ending. Steam version comes with 480p dvd quality video. There exist mods that patch in higher quality scans of the original film, if you can find them I recommend them.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME This game is 100% A TRICK! You go into this thinking "AWW YEAH - It's 1990s SEXY TIME!!!" LITTLE DO YOU KNOW - You think you're playing a game - NO, the game F***S YOU! That's right - it f***s you RIGHT IN THE HEAD! One second, you think it's stimulating your peepee, and the next second, you're sitting there crying your eyes out, faced with a question about your childhood with soft contemplative music from the game. So, you ask me - "JACK, WHY WOULD YOU CRY DURING THIS GAME?" I'll tell you why - the game PSYCHOANALYZES you. Because during the game, one of the questions you have to answer reads: "As a child, I enjoyed myself the most -" (Multiple choice) Combined with the MUSIC that was playing in the game, it made me think on my LIFE - As a CHILD, I enjoyed myself most- When I was ALONE. That is what I REALIZED was MY ANSWER. I sat there, in my premium IKEA chair, and just- CRIED. Because despite being able to achieve so many things in my life, THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO to change the FACT that: HUMANS HURT HUMANS From family, to friends, to lovers - So much of that is just, people HURTING me, and ME HURTING THEM. The most at PEACE i've felt in the past was when I was BY MYSELF getting completely lost into ANOTHER WORLD... ESCAPISM. Whether it was GAMES, TV SHOWS, or MOVIES. Those were the most PEACEFUL times i've had in my life. No one to JUDGE you. No one to LIE to you. No one to USE you. LONELINESS, has nothing to do with how many people want to hang out with you. It is living in WORLD full of people that you WISH you could get close to. But you CAN'T... So you live in a VOID. The comforting abyss of 1980s / 1990s shows and movies. Playing what feels like an endless library of games on STEAM. Dopamine hitting from DINOSAUR shaped NUGGETS and TATER TOTS. THIS, is what I'VE CHOSEN, for now... In every sense of the word - I have become a LOST BOY. HIDING away in NEVERLAND. Because like sticking your hand into a FLAME - It is IMPOSSIBLE to get close to HUMANS, without watching YOU and THEM hurt each other. KEY TAKEWAWAY: I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME - A game where one minute you're wiping up your j***, and the next minute you're wiping up your tears. What other game is going to have that effect on you? GET THIS GAME - You will learn a lot about yourself. THANKS FOR READING. P.S. GIRLS HAVE COOTIES... :)
An amazing psychological erotic thriler xXx
Gonna be so kind as to cast a cosmic scale rating on this one Gameplay 4.25/13 Sound 5/13 Graphics 7/13 Writing 11.50/13 Acting 5.75/13 John Hurts acting 13/13 Streak breaks involving live action boobies 12.25/13 Steam truly needs an additional score choice. As this really doth fall in between not recommend and recommend. Also If John Hurt was my doctor, helping me through life's many bumps, I might have become a brain surgeon or found myself addicted to heroin. Or both... Most likely both.
Well, I think we all learned the importance of wearing your seatbelt!
Would not have enjoyed this as a movie and would not have expected that I would as a "game" but I in fact pretty much did. "Original" let's say. Anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the level of exploring you do. Well worth the 0,89€ I spent on it. Maybe not much more, and maybe not if you're young enough to have the nineties count as purely historical jank, but may give this a chance otherwise.
