Technocide is a vertical scrolling shoot 'em up with a heavy emphasis on player weapons and abilities. You must not let enemies past you and reach your mothership! You will need quick tactical thinking as you weigh your weapons' strengths and weaknesses against your enemies and their positioning.

About
THIS IS A SHOOT 'EM UP, NOT A DODGE 'EM UP
This game is about shooting swarms of enemies before they can reach your mothership. This is not a bullet hell where you need to dodge hails of bullets and patterns. Don't get complacent though, enemies will return fire. A well placed shot could ruin your timing and let that pesky missile drone through.
ROGUELIKEY RUNS
Damage to the mothership is permanent, and if it's destroyed, you start from the beginning. Going for repairs will pass up extra cash or shiny new equipment. Procedurally generated runs deliver a constantly fresh experience, from level selection and bonuses to the enemy combinations within, they will rarely be the same.

ULTIMATE CONTROL, TACTICAL FREEDOM
Take control of an entire arsenal of weapons and gadgets. You will be like a flying swiss army knife, picking the right tool for the job at the right time. There are always multiple solutions available for any situation. It will be up to you how you spend your limited resources in each level.
OVERKILL
Pump excess lead into your enemies and see them explode into chunks of deadly shrapnel that can take out even more enemies. Get style points for chaining kills.
TAKE A WINGMAN
Two-player co-op locally with controllers and keyboard. You can even play on the same keyboard (n-key rollover recommended)!
A SCI-FI CALAMITY
The Artificial Scientific Discovery Intelligence has gone rogue. In control of a massive facility with full fabrication capabilities, it constructed itself rockets and lifted off into space. It is now raiding nearby human settlements with swarms of drones for resources, presumably to further science at an unprecedented rate. End the menace before the entirety of human civilization is in ruins!

Game received for free through LazyOtter. Game is a new take on the vertical 2d shooter, arcade style. Interesting story at least, particularly relevant today. Did not play more than a few levels... Def on the harder side even just on "normal". Some enemies are obnoxious and could use a rebalance. Dying resets but you can choose a save to get back to close to where you were. Dislike the 1 to 3 ratio on choices for which colony to save, feels very X-com, and I hated that feature about that game too. If you are a preexisting fan of the genre, go for it. Otherwise, most people will probably find their money better spent elsewhere.
Shmup that does it's own thing and does it quite well.
Simples, divertido e desafiador. Recomendo se você gosta de SMUPs clássicos.
+ Nice and hardcore SHMUP! + Steam Deck OLED compatible and power consumption 6.6 Watt! ✅ Recommended! My video review https://youtu.be/SqHSv6Vhbmg

Good old school shmup with great soundtrack.
Such a fun top down shoot em up, the controls are smooth the variety of weapons, enemies and everything else is well worth the low price with old school art style and funky sound track.
A flawless arcade co-op for quick sessions, although the story slows the tempo and feels unnecessary in this kind of game. I was terrible at it, but luckily so was everyone else.
Very fun shoot em up. Not too heavy on the roguelite meta elements. I'm not much into bullet hells so this one works better for me, easy to sink hour or few into this in the evenings. Definitely recommend trying local coop, apparently works over remote play too.
Really unique take on classic genre! Love the minimalist look and feel on this, though few first levels feel a bit dry with their monoculture mobs and nothing much else. There is surprising level of depth in seemingly brainless all out shoot. With wrong approach, you are not going to cut it. I would call this a tactical shoot'em up. Game is really hard though, even on easy, and some of the controls are giving me headache. Developer is responsive for feedback as I hope to see controls option to bind buttons to directly fire each of the different weapons and their respective supermodes. Recommended to those who want to hit their head hard on a novel type of challenging action. I use keyboard, but could work better with pad really.
