《Teachers. With Love and Passion.》是一款以校园职场为背景的乙女游戏。
One of the best visual novels I have ever played! I adoreeee the variety in characters and appreciate the time dedicating to specific characters as well as all of them together!

Take about an hour off my play time for idling and factor in that I was tracking my decisions instead of using the guide (I gave up doing that during the DLC, though), and you should have an accurate depiction of the game’s length. TLDR: TWLAP is a short and sweet game with a rare older cast where you get what you pay for. The story is nothing groundbreaking and fairly shallow, but it’s a good time. You will get the most out of this if you play all routes and endings, including the entirety of the DLC. Played Route Order: Lawrence (G - B), Neutral, Leonard (G - B - F), Ray (F - G), Markus (F - G - B), Edgar (G - B1 - B2), Secret Suggested Route Order: Neutral - Markus - Ray - Leonard - Lawrence - Edgar - Secret Strongest to Weakest Story: Ray > Lawrence > Leonard > Secret > Edgar > Markus > Neutral Strongest to Weakest Romance: Ray > Leonard > Lawrence > Edgar > Markus > Secret > Neutral Most to Least Interesting LI: Lawrence > Ray > Leonard > Markus > Edgar
The Good, the Meh, and the Ugly
Pros: - A “free” DLC that’s actually decently long (in comparison to the otome itself) and acts more as a fluffy sequel. (The “poly” routes are rather weak, unfortunately.) - I really enjoy the art style! Not the typical for an otome, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Might not be to everyone’s tastes, however. - The LIs are actually OLDER and so is the MC. Hallelujah! This is so rare for this genre… - Easy to use interface. I like the fact you can scroll back with a mouse to read prior lines of text. - The sound design is solid! Some people in the reviews got annoyed with the chalk sound used for the menu, but I personally did not. - Epilogues start right after each romance end, which is a nice change. - As far as I could tell, very few choices felt like I ended up doing the opposite anyways. Neutral: - The music is unremarkable; not bad, not great. It’s not very frequent either. - You have to pick your language and whether or not you want captions every single time you boot up the game. It’s great they have those options, but the process gets a bit annoying as you continue on. - You can’t skip the text messages even if you’ve already read through them. - No clear distinctions for what “chapter” you’re on. With that, I would even add the day/how much time has passed. - CGs, when they appear, do not linger for long. Yes, there is the gallery, but you don’t get much of a chance to savor them when they appear in the story. - Also no kiss CGs until the DLC! Kinda strange. - There aren’t any minigames. That’s not an issue, yet I do think one related to the MC teaching would be fun and a nice way to break up the story. - Age gaps are not really acknowledged. Three of the five LIs are within “socially acceptable” ranges; however the final two, Lawrence and Ray, are eighteen and fifteen years apart from the MC respectively. Some comments are made about their age but never about the age difference. To a degree, I can understand why the game devs might have done this: limited storytelling time, perhaps they didn’t want to take things too “seriously” with it, and/or they didn’t want to lean into the “we have an age gap yet can’t stay away” shtick. This isn’t necessarily bad, although it does dock some points for realism. - Despite the MC being a teacher, there’s barely anything in the game related to her job or interacting with the kids she works with. However, due to how short this game is, this is to be expected. - And the previous point brings me to this one: the game is rather short. Not so short I don’t think it’s worth the full price—it definitely is—but you get what you pay for. You really get that feeling for the whole game. Cons: - I’m pretty sure this was translated into English or the writer’s first language is not English. The blunders made are never so severe you can’t understand the story, but the writing can be clunky and awkward. - And as one would expect with my prior comment, there are grammar and spelling mistakes. Not horrific yet noticeable. - Some of the smaller details of the sprites can be hard to distinctly make out. (This might not be the case for those using something larger than a laptop.) - You have no idea how a decision affects a character’s affection level. This mostly becomes an “issue” during the common route because you can end up with a LI you didn’t expect after shooting for another one. If you’re not using the guide, it can be a lot of trial and error, more so than if you had indications for affection level. - Some characters don’t have as many endings as the others??? Looking at you, Lawrence and Ray. There is also a LI that doesn’t have as many CGs as the others: Lawrence.
Common Route Impressions
Lighthearted with no major conflict is the best way I could describe it. The common route focuses on the building relationships between the MC and the cast as well as the MC dealing with her anxiety (which is a kind of conflict but it doesn’t drive the plot forward as much as it does linger). Most of the LIs show their, well, interest pretty fast with the exception of
Lawrence
which tracks for his character. I enjoyed the humor and the dynamics of the group; and it makes me wish the game was longer so you could really enjoy getting to know everyone.
LI’s Route Impression
Short, sweet, and admittedly pretty shallow. TWLAP is not a slow burn—a consequence of being a short game—and some of the LIs burn faster than others. Now, I was expecting this after seeing the average play time from reviews and just allowed myself to enjoy the ride, which I did. They’re a pleasant experience and you do get some more depth from your chosen LI, although not very much. Unlike the common route, you do receive actual plot driven conflict, mostly in the form of
the yandere antagonist, Eric. He’s more intense in some routes than others, and I believe Ray’s route handled him the best. I thought it was interesting that all the bad endings are essentially falling victim to him. I do wish we had more time to get to know Eric before he just suddenly appears at the beginning (or near beginning) of a route. He’s quite one dimensional.
Any other conflict is caused by quirks or flaws that characters have and how they affect the lives of others and themselves. Overall, pretty fun and easy reading! However, one thing became abundantly clear to me as I continued to play: all of the LIs were loved by their creators, but some were loved more than others… Joking aside, it’s fairly obvious which ones the game devs thought would be the most popular (and/or were more fond of) and acted accordingly. It’s a little disheartening, but the routes that “suffered” still weren't bad. That being said, it did make it seem like the game wasn’t complete in some aspects. Now, by the time I am posting this, the game has not been out for long so this could change with time.
This game had me giggling and squealing and screaming and crying. I love it so much! Lawrence is my favorite with Ray close behind - but honestly I loved them all. I was on a mission to get 100% completion of the main game and I was not disappointed. The story is a lot of fun, it has steamy scenes, memorable characters, and I adore the art - especially the CGs. I'll be back soon for the DLC! Just mentioning for transparency: I was invited to play this for streaming on Twitch and YouTube. That said, I honestly enjoyed myself immensely!
I highly recommend this game. I played it a long time ago on itch. It is just as well made as I remember. I will say there are a few typos, but I don't mind them with such an amazing story. It's such a great otome game with 5 amazing grown men I could gush about, a 30 year old main character I could relate to. I will say that again : the main character is a 30 year old and the 5 guys age from 33 to 48. the story revolves around being a new teacher at a middle school and the love interests are your fellow faculty. the story is very funny and a bit creepy like the best kind of otome. and the cherry on top is that this addition has a beach vacation bonus dlc that takes place three years after the main game. the only negative is that I noticed that the bonus dlc had more typos. If you want to know my favorites are Mr Fox and Mr. Hanson.
a romance VN where all the MLs are over 30?? a dream come true... Lawrence and Ray my beloveds
Worth the Price and time, this game made my heart super happy, it's cute! I havn't finished the DLC but what I've played it's also lovely. The Length of the game is a bit short reminding me of some of the older english otome games that came out back in my teenage years. The only thing I wasn't a big fan on is the texts but only because I couldn't skip them after my first run (they take a bit when I'm trying to get all the bad endings to get the true ending)
It's always nice to find an Otome Game, that includes or is centered around older romance options. I've been playing these romance visual novels ever since my early to late teens and, obviously, time hasn't stopped for me and therefore I've been growing older while most Otome Games focus on younger adults as the only romance options available to the player. The only other game similar to this I can think of, off the top of my head, is Pub Encounter. Either way, there's not much I can complain about here. Only thing being, that the English version feels a bit clunky at times. Some spelling errors or weird phrasing here and there. Other than that, though? Very enjoyable experience. Besides, it's never so bad that you don't actually understand what the characters are trying to say or mean. I grew fond of the artstyle used in this. Could there have been a bit more variation in backgrounds? Sure, but it's not really necessary for a small little game like this. Music? Sometimes feels like there are moments of silence in which the team couldn't find a fitting track and therefore just left the scene in silence. You can take note of it, but it was never really bothersome. There's no voice acting, but again, that isn't necessary for a short and sweet game like this. The stories of each character have just the right amount of depth to them, the tone being kept mostly light throughout the main story itself, while turning a hint darker the moment you slip into one of the romance paths. Every adult comes with some form of luggage that piled up during their life and I feel it is well represented here. Overall, it's definitely a recommendation from me. Go for it.
