Tap Derby: Horse Racing

SO cool! exacly what i was looking for in a horse racing sim. it's definitely very hard but that makes it even more fun. the graphics are SO cute. recommend it!!!

This game is more than a game. Playing Tap Derby has surprisingly changed my life, especially because of my newfound appreciation for horse. Initially, I was just looking for a fun and exciting way to pass the time, but the game has deepened my respect for these majestic animals. As I learned more about their speed, stamina, and agility through the game, it's transcended my understanding of horse. I even named a horse My Face, which brought me great joy when cheering it on during each of it's races. What started as a simple game has ignited a passion for horse I never expected, changing my perspective and even started opening up new opportunities in my life. I now own a horse irl that I ride down main street in my local town while the citizens grovel at my feet. I now know what it feels like to be american because of Tap Derby, this game has taught me power, independence, authority, and freedom. If you wish to be an american buy Tap Derby! If you aren't a pu$$y buy Tap Derby!

There is an underlying system that has complexities that create a draw to understand how things work. I am having fun, but honestly am still figuring out what exactly I need to do to win consistently. I wasted my money by buying a horse which I thought was ok, but it was bad - sold it on and bought something else. The NPCS are hard bidders and outbid me frequently, there is a competitive streak in this game as a result. TLDR; horse breeding racing simulator that you could run on a toaster.

Really lovely game as is but has a good few other things planned and in the works! Really loving the management side of things as well. The music is very nice and while the graphics may not be the favorites of everyone, the game and experience of rising a champion through the ranks gradually is very exciting. Each horse from my experience appears to have something unique as well to them through how they start and finish races. The game is very nice as something to sit down and play and enjoy. Additionally I recently joined their discord server and the Head Developer is very friendly and attentive to questions. While the game and community is small it has a big heart and it's hard not to love even just a little bit! Currently the game has: Races & Scheduling; Races have lengths, track surfaces, Grades / Types, etc! Additionally it has a stake schedule so you can prepare for particular races without having them sprung up! Auction Houses & The ability to auction your racers at the end of the year Training & Management of your racers rest, stats, and training. The stable manager also allows you to rename your horses to whatever you'd like, check their gender, age, total earnings, and in depth records including their time, earnings, and details of specific races they're run through. You're able to sort your stable, favorite, and even write details in-game of things you'd like to remember! If you're interested in trying out the game it's relatively cheap and would support the game's creation by showing love and support!

It's a really nice game with straightforward mechanics and a well paced progression! Working towards higher ranks doesn't feel tedious at all (it's actually quite addicting...) plus the charming graphics and music make the game really enjoyable. For $5, it's worth it! It's simple, yet well put together, and I'm excited to see what the devs have planned in the future :3c

Exactly what I wanted. Low stakes, but challenging, but not a slog. Just easy enough where it's easy to succeed, but hard to win Triple Crown. I hope for some fleshing out in the future, but for $5 I'm content.

Really love this game, I got totally addicted, its simple but effective as a management game if you like that sort of thing, who knew breeding 2d horses could be so much fun :)

It's reminiscent of the old Winning Post game for the Sega Saturn, but a very simplified version. It's fun and simple, and scratches that itch if you're one of those people that's annoyed Japan won't release any of their horse racing games in the US like I am.
