Tank Battle: East Front

Tank Battle: East Front is a continuation of the Tank Battle series of games by the Game Developer HexWar Games. This game takes place on the Eastern Front of the Second World War between the Germans and the Russians from 1941 to 1945. I really enjoy this game. You play has both the Germans and the Russians in different campaigns in the game. I think that you get a lot of content for the price of this game. I also think that they also have a pretty good Tutorial Campaign in the game which teaches you all the basic stuff you need to know to play the game. I also like this game because it is a lot of just point and click with your mouse to move your units around and to get your units to fight. I can zoom in and out on the maps real easy with my mouse wheel. I can also use my mouse to move around on the maps. I hope that HexWar Games make more of these kind of games to play on the PC in the future along with their Civil War series of games which I also really enjoy playing.

The game is more like a puzzle game than a tactical military game. The maps are small. Which limits manouvers and forces you to take linear paths across enemy ambushes and minefields. The replayability through maps is thereby limited and the difficutlty lies mainly in accomplishing scenarios within the limited time which often forces you to take more direct approaches to your victory locations. I am not sure if you are allowed to bring your untis through the linked scenarios in a campaign or if you start over with each map. If that is the case it only adds to the let down of the game. Sorry but buy wars and battles: Normandy instead.

Fairly simple, but a good WW2 tactical strategy game./

I've been reviewing the [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/28557252-Fish-and-Loaves/list/36127]Tank Battle series[/url] and it's getting hard to differentiate the games now. East Front might be "the one with the odd campaign interface". Instead of showing the flags of your army and the opposition, this installment gives you a choice of dates from 1941 to 1945 and "Core". Then you see a cryptic set of campaigns with names like "Attack!", "Momentum" and "Collapse". Finally, you can work through a series of missions with slightly less mundane names ("January Thunder", for instance). I believe all of these missions involve just German and Russian forces, so you really need to be interested in their combat equipment. If you are the sort who cares about each variation of the Panzer III (and II and IV, etc.), this is the game for you. According to the feature list, there's even a chance to deploy flamethrower tanks. Unfortunately, I have no idea which missions might include them since the campaign menu is so convoluted. Other than the model differences, it can be hard to tell the difference between one tank variation and the next. Instead of changing the way you use units, the variations mostly seem distinct only in having slightly different stats. Poking at the missions randomly, I did find one new mechanic that added to the experience. Some missions give an option to destroy AA guns in order to grant the player with air support. In theory, that would give players a choice in how they tackle the battle. Instead of racing to the final control point, it might be better to divert a few units to accomplish the optional objective and call in more firepower. However, the one mission I found with this feature didn't use it well. Since there was a bridge to the final objective, there was a traffic jam. So it didn't cost anything to move a few units out of line and take care of the AA. I still recommend this game, but not as strongly as [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/540150/]Tank Battle: Blitzkrieg[/url] and others in the series.

ALL of these tank battle games I bought in the tank battle bundle are all the same, 10 different games called tank battle that look, play, and sound the same! Even the achievements are the same! "Tank battle: insert subtitle here". Each one is fun to play but your just playing the same game no matter which one you play. So you know what!? Since this is a copy and pasted game I am just going to copy and paste my review for each tank battle game!

TANK BATTLE: EAST FRONT is one of HexWar's tactical, hex- and turn-based, single-player World War Two TANK BATTLE game series. For the price, you definitely get bang for your buck, with 128 scenarios (by my count) included in the latest update, covering the start of Germany's invasion of Russia in June 1941 through to the Battle of Berlin in April-May 1945. Game scale is unspecified but tactical, with ranged combat including direct and indirect fire, plus air support. Three AI difficulty levels are included, plus "historical mode" which is meant to accurately simulate the historical strengths and weaknesses of the various unit types and weapon systems, making the game significantly more difficult, at least in my experience. Game complexity is low/introductory, and some scenarios are quite easy, though others are highly difficult, requiring spot-on tactics, timing and execution. For a while, I was worried that HexWar was not responding to customer reports of bugs and game issues (e-mail support@hexwar.com), but the last few months they seem to be really on top of things, issuing repeated updates and fixing issues with many of their games. I'm grateful as there are not many wargame developers making releases for Apple's macOS. Recommended.

The entire series is very mediocre and a port of mobile games. Don't waste your time on this and get a proper PC wargame.
