Played this in preparation for the recent entry Mermaid Mask coming out next week, and besides some puzzles being a hit or miss for me and the murder reveal feeling abit rushed, I do overall enjoy the art direction, dialogue, and characters regardless! Its personally up there for any art nerd (myself included), and the cozy vibe of an old flash game is just really great considering SFB Bros made Haunt the House. Overall, its pretty good highly recommend it if you enjoy games like Ace Attorney or Professor Layton :]
Not the most difficult Point & Click, but I actually enjoyed nonetheless. The characters and environment were interesting and the mystery was pulled together nicely. One thing I will say is that the animation for character is SO good. They're all so full of life and tiny mannerisms similar in fashion to Ace Attorney but with more frames. Definitely recommend this one!
I really enjoyed playing Tangled Tower! The characters and spaces are so well designed, the voices and movement were so natural and good, and the puzzles were very satisfying! I will definitely play it again, and look for more games from SFB Games. I can't recommend the game enough!
Amazing game! The soundtrack, the characters, the mysteryyy... GRAAAH!! Just wonderful
Maybe one of the best detective game I've ever played in my life (and I've played plenty). The characters are very interesting, combining good design with likeable personalities and engaging story. It was a delight to discover. I've seen some people complain about the ending , but honestly, once you learn a bit more about the franchise and it's story (I also played "Detective Grimoire"), it doesn't feel this abrupt of an ending to me. I also loved Hawkshaw's character, very iconic. I played it two times already, can't wait to see what's next ! Definitely recommend for puzzle game enthusiasts (and, dare I say, visual novels fans too !)
Realy fun game, with different and unique puzzles. The story is also realy intresseting and realy draws a good idea about who every one is and what there charachters are
Fantastic game. Great art and animation, Steller voice acting, and a twist that genuinely caught me off guard. The puzzles were really fun and uncovering the character's interconnecting stories was so compelling. I can't wait to see more from the studio!
Wow this was so much fun! first of all I LOVE the artstyle, the colors were scrumptious and the character designs were so creative and unique. I also adored the voice lines, the voice acting was done really well and truly made the characters come to life. The whole point-and-click way of playing was done really well and slowly discovering the mysteries and clues was a lot of fun. The puzzles were fun too, especially the suspect interrogation puzzles where you had to form a sentence with evidence and clues you discovered. I finished the game in one sitting (4,8 hours) and did not feel bored at any point at all. The ending was pretty conclusive. I do feel like it was a bit hard to guess the murderer, but thats just the way most murder mysteries are. I did not really see it coming. I do however feel like we didn't get answers to all the questions raised: like where did the crab tablet come from? who put it there and why did the handwriting match Freya's perfectly if she was already dead? She couldn't have put it there. + How did the murderer put the blood in the paintjar/ on the painting? + Why were the tapes and the recordings not even really important? I feel like the recordings could have been used as a clue in a better way. The final scenes were nice but I do somehow feel like something could have been added to make it a little less of a short/abrupt ending. Maybe we could have seen a short bit of the characters returning to their normal lifes after everything that happened or even a last scene of the murderer dealing with life after the events. I also played the secrets of the swamp game, after this one, and am a little confused as to why the stories of the 'hunters' are basically the same in both games? It might be a lore thing, as the last name Remington was also relevant in tangle tower, but it did feel a little bit repetitive. I hope this won't be the exact same in the new game coming this month, I'd love to see something slightly different. Tangle tower is a huge approvement from the older game though! looks- and play-wise. Besides these things and points for improvement, I thoroughly enjoined the game and am very excited to get into more of the Detective Grimoire games!
