Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of The Rings™ Game

Super cozy game with lots to do but a relaxing pace. Really does make you feel like a busy (or lazy, if you want to be) lil hobbit bopping around being nosy/neighborly/social. Not really any punishing mechanics or really negative consequences and you can take your time because things will come around again. I played mostly on my Steam Deck, which the game is very compatible with. Graphics had to be set a bit low to achieve 30fps, but still enjoyable. Leaps off the screen on my desktop. Could use some QoL enhancements (minimap, better highlighting of some foraging nodes, the lantern working earlier in the evening) and some other fixes (everyone jittering in the seats at the Green Dragon shared meals?? lol) but overall a lovely intersection of cozy sim + LoTR hobbit life. I sincerely hope more quests or DLC comes out adding further storylines for Bywater and the townsfolk, because even with slow-rolling my progress, I felt like I whooshed through it without meaning to and there's still a lot of character development and room for independent storytelling within the area and time the devs have carved out from The Hobbit/LoTR lore! In the meantime, I'll be in my hobbit-hole decorating and cooking my small butt off.

You're a Hobbit. You go on quests helping the villagers. You help the village as a whole in an overarching story. Fish, forage, cook, and decorate. Cooking meals, collecting ingredients and recipes, and feeding your neighbors are the core mechanics here. If you're a LOTR fan and don't play many life sims you'll love this. If you do play life sims your expectations may line up differently. Even so, me having played a lot of life sims, I love this game for what it is. I'm also a little biased because I am a LOTR fan.

my favorite game to wind down after work! it would be cool to get some quality of life updates. maybe more seasonal decor, clothes, and ways to interact with the other characters? more depth would be nice.

This game is fun, cozy, and full of different kinds of tasks you can perform. There's not much urgency in the game, but there is plenty of structure to help you figure out what direction to go in. The graphics are very pretty, and I love some of the witty banter between the townsfolk.

Truly the greatest game for relaxing. There are no hard deadlines for getting things done you can just complete tasks as you want to. Then with that there are such cool mechanics throughout including cooking, navigating, and fishing.

História super fofa, personagens muito amáveis, não é um jogo que cansa, poderia jogar por horas sem parar, muita gente reclamou sobre não ter dinheiro para comprar ingredientes, mas coletando ingredientes, você CONSEGUE DINHEIRO EXTREMAMENTE rápido, então, já fica a dica! A única coisa chata é a otimização na praça do condado, mas em próximas atualizações imagino que isso possa ser resolvido! Nota 10/10
