Set in same world of Loren The Amazon Princess. Classic VN/RPG gameplay with romances plus isometric maps, randomized loot, many skills and clever AI.

I love Winter Wolves , but I think this one missed the mark. It was just pretty boring, there was barely any plot and it just felt like the characters were just running around aimlessly most of the time. The twins/protagonists had pretty designs but they were painfully boring and unrelatable. The side characters were okay for the most part, I liked the diversity. The heterosexual romance option for Althea was pretty lame, maybe the other romances are better, I haven't played them yet. The "flashback quests" felt weird and unnecessary. Unfortunately, this is probably my least favorite Winter Wolves RPG. Even the old and outdated Planet Stronghold 1 was more enjoyable than this one. I still wouldn't dream of giving a negative review to one of my favorite indie developers.
The start is so slow, and the ui isn't very intuitive. Until you learn the various ways to heal it gets very annoying. You're very likely to blow most of your gold trying to keep healed up so you can try to do more things during the day. Especially since II didn't know that if a character is KO'd in battle they have a small amount of health after you finish the battle. So I spent most of my energy trying to finish the matches without anyone going down to zero. So if you are reading this and haven't played this yet. My advice is to try to not accidentally advance to nighttime since you only get half the healing when you got back home to sleep. (annoying mechanic for the start of the game when you are trying to do things and learn). The early game wolves are annoying in that they offer very little gold (ruined pelts) and experience to the point I stopped wanting to check my traps. I got to the end of the prologue and just wanted to stop playing.
Now this is how a visual novel should handled itself: lots of interaction, story that catches you off guard, choices on character and path taken, decent dating pool, and a decent RPG system over that. Recommended for folks checking the VN genre out or those who like VN.
This is a heavy story with 2 romance per character game. Focus is on story and combat, romance is side part.I played the first game with Loren and I can say this one seems better. At least that is my opinion. Action is longer and character growth is great. I seen some reviews that are totally off. Anyway the only bad part would be the achievements on hard more+. I am a veteran gamer and I found game hard even on easy(The personal storys). Overall the easy difficulty was okay the only bad part is that I won't get achievements, if that can be considered bad. sadly few games are at this level nowadays. Maybe add some more games in this universe/prequel/sequel or do some more DLC.
After 14h I refuse to continue which rarely happens. The game is just throwing one enemy wave after another to unecessary extent the game, while also come up with a slow and borring story. I really like the Loren game and plot but this game does not catch my intrest.
Definitely recommended to fans of VNs, adventure, and turn-based RPGs. You may also enjoy the Planet Stronghold games, Sunrider series, or Utawarerumono. +Art style +Customization starting class, skills +Turn-based battles +Some voiced battle barks +Dual main character system +Exploration, variety of events/quests +Auto and manual saves +Story +Variety of skills, equipment +Choices on level up +Difficulty settings -Barebones options -Dialogue is not voiced -Lacking animations -MP system heavily limits skill use -Skills sometimes don't appear
Another fantastic RPG/VN from Winter Wolves. The storytelling is top notch. The characters are well written and diverse in their personalities. Rowinda is a favorite of mine - everybody needs a nutty old bat in their life.
Is there a way I can just strictly have the visual novel version early I'll pay extra if I have to
It's very enjoyable to play Plus it's entwines with Loren the Amazon Princess & Cursed Lands So why not play it, Hope others will enjoy it
